Do you think that the new 641's are covered under the warranty. My car has the 640's and I'm having no problems with them so far. I would like to upgrade them before the warranty is up in 5 months. Do you think they'll replace them if they're still good after they do a test drive just for the upgrade?

This has been discussed a lot in the forums. You may want to run a search of previous posts.

The short answer: Varies by dealer. If one won't cooperate with your wishes, another might.

I believe there are only 3 revisions available right now. 041 (original), 040 (revised) and 640 ('08 and later). If you already have 640s and there is no demonstrable noise or performance degradation, there will not be any replacement done under warranty.

You can buy a new set of 640s fairly inexpensively if you just want a refresh.
