Hello to all,

Bought my used Tucson CRDi 2006 4WD a few weeks ago and I just love the car. Have nothing really bad to say about it.
The fuel consumption is just excellent and the handling is awesome.
BUT now the Check engine Light has come up and has been lit for 2 days and then today it disappeared for 2 hours and went back on again.

How can I check what type of ErrorCode its all about?
I hope its not a major engine fault =(

the only way to extract the code is to use a scanner, you will need to take it to your dealer or other repair shop that has one. if the engine is running o/k then l doubt if it is anything major or anything to worry about.

BTW welcome to the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif)

Hello and thank you for the welcome =)
I drove to a repair shop where they checked for free with a scanner. But where can I get information on what the error codes stands for?
If my memory is correct the code was p0401 and p0504. But what does it stand for?

The car is running great but still I want to fix the problem to prevent future catastrophes.
Tomorrow I will change air filter, fuel filter, oil and oilfilter since this has not been done in a while.

Cheers

Ok I received p0401 as Error Code.

P0401 Exhaust gas recirculation (ERG) system – insufficient flow detected Hose leak/blockage, basic setting not carried out (if applicable), wiring, EGR valve, EGR solenoid, ECM

Anyone else having this problem?
Where can I find the ERG valve in my crdi diesel engine?

Cheers to all!
