I have a factory fitted alarm in my CRDv which has no sensors of any kind indicating that a person is bumping or entering the car by any other way other than by opening the door. Some robbers got into my car by overiding the door switch by opening the doorhandle and were in the process of taking out the key switch when a friend of mine saw them and scared them away. I purchased a new 3rd party brand alarm and was going to install it but have found I cannot disable the existing, Hyundai one. The existing one waits 30 seconds then automatically arms after which the central door lock switch on the drivers side no longer funtions (so the new alarm also cannot open it). If I then open with a key, the hyundai alarm sounds and imobilizes the car.
Is there a way to disable the Hyundai factory fitted alarm system?
Thanks,
Chris
