Hi, i've joined to highlight there may be a batch problem with i30 SX Petrol Manual key chip receiver. My vehicle is currently experiencing the same ignition fault symptoms as another post on here that was diagnosed at tweed Hyundai in late 2008.

These symtoms are - car will only start occasionally (intermittent- this has only started in the last 2 weeks and is getting worse).

trouble starting - engine turns over fine but no ignition (there is fuel present)

engine power and electronic systems seems OK (once finally running - sometimes take 10 minutes).

Randomly won't start.

I bought my i30 SX in Adelaide in Dec 2007 which suggests it may be from the same batch as the tweed heads vehicle further down in this forum with the same problem (purchased in Jan 2008).

It's going in to Hyundai on Monday to get checked - will keep you posted

same thing happened to me. the combination door/ignition key was faulty, eventually failed altogether & was replaced under warrenty. please bear in mind,
that the spare key (not a combo type) was working ok.) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)
