I saw one 2010 at the dealer today. Pretty much the same car (this one had the Tech package) and of course I couldn't check the front suspension, but to my disapointment the lower front grille is a joke.
1.- it is cheap plastic
2.- black (on a gold color car with the chrome upper grille)
3.- it cuts the overall lenght of the lower grille, no more horizontal bars from end to end, now it shows two big sqared boxes on each end blocking air and aesthetically hurting the font of the car, while a short middle horizontal bars give some angled continuity to the upper grille.
I'll see if I can take a picture when I pick up my car.
by the way I was shocked to see such a cheap plastic piece on a high visible area of a $42,000 car, imagine an ATOS or Accent lower grille installed on the Genesis, to me it was a sign that Hyundai is putting all their efforts to the revised 2011 model and pretty much stopped caring about 2010 already. I think I will wait until 2011 to strongly consider the Genesis as my next car.
Hang on a second there, chief. Before you get all riled up about that you should know that the pieces you saw do serve a function. They are the radar emitter and receiver for the adaptive cruise control. The first 2010 I saw that had the adaptive cruise was black so I barely noticed them but I can see them being a bit ugly on a lighter colored car.
Edit: Oh yeah...I pray Hyundai NEVER puts DRLs on their US-spec cars. I hate nothing more than daytime running lights because I feel like I'm being insinuated that I'm too stupid to know when to turn my lights on and therefore should be forced to drive with them on all the time. I'm smart enough to turn my headlights on in rain, fog, darkness, and even very cloudy days.
End rant, please resume your discussion.
