Hello
I read the post that they Entourage is no more, I am not surprised at all. If the majority of purchasers had the same problems as me I can understand. I am beyond frustrated with this van, problem after problem. Ours has 28,000 KM. and I estimate I have had the thing into the shop at least once a month. I have contacted head office numerous times and they do nothing. They are terrible service and I will never buy one again. Anyone looking at this vehicle should not consider it. Way to many problems, where do I start, at 10000k I had a new transmission put in, I have had it over 7 times into the dealer for oil leaks and in fact it has wrecked my $8000 colored concrete driveway. The engine has been in several times for loud noises and shaking, the vehicle has been in for several computer resets as lights go on the dash and won't turn off. I has been in for the temp gauge not working and I have had the DVD replaced. (not to mention the new DVD audio is terrible)

Just to all do not buy this van! If you have any suggestions on what I can do with my issues let me know pls. It would seem they got my $40,000 and do not care to help me.

thanks
jim

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. The earlier build Entourage's were horrible! I also don't like the way the transmissions shift in the Entourage's and Sedona's, some shift very rough and you feel it jerk.

How do you like your Elantra?

Sorry to hear you had so many problems. If you paid $40K, I can understand why you're so upset.

We paid $22.5K for our top of line 2006 Sedona (has everything except RSE) and it has been trouble free for 2+yrs. I think Hyundai is getting rid of the Entourage because most buyers don't see much reason for paying more for an Entourage, when an identical Sedona can be had for thousands less.

If anything, right now might be a good time to buy a late-build (ie...bug-free) van for really cheap. Consider that this left-over last year's inventory and therefore can be negotiated down to much lower prices.

We just bought a new 08 Entourage from one of the auctions our wholesalers go to. When they bought the van, it had 13 miles, it now has 120 and is going on the lot. It's got the new window sticker but is being sold as used and it came from Georgia. They are selling it for $22,000 and you could probably get another $2,000 off of that, not bad if you ask me.

If I had all those problems I would have taken my Entourage to a different dealer
I purchased a new Entourage in 08 and it has been one of the best vehicle I have ever owned .
After reading blogs I have found very few problems with this model. Before I purchased this model I checked all the blogs
about minivans and they all have problems. I also test drove the other models and after evaluating features, cost and
dealerships the Entourage was the best for my needs. Since 07 Entourage has sold over 29,000 units and very few
major problems.

Believe it or not we sold the van on Wednesday night. We owned it for $19,000 and they sold it for $20,000. The new sticker was $30,100. It was an SE with the $4,800 package. That is the quickest we ever sold an Entourage. I noticed it had hail damage all over the roof. They have the chance to get 30 of these from the dealer in Georgia again.

I just got an Entourage a few days ago to replace one that was totaled a week before. (16 year old kid ran into my wife going 40 mph) The Entourage did a great job for us from a saftey stand point and we were happy with it for the 4,000 miles that we had it.

The Entourage that we just got was also from an auction in Georgia. It is a Blue Limited with bluetooth and cargo storage options. We paid $22,750 for it and the sticker was $31,600. Sounds like you got a better deal but this was by far the best I was able to get with in 150 miles. Most other dealers were asking over $26,000 and had trouble getting them to dro the GLS with pwr package down to $22,000.

Was there any reason why these Entourages from Georgia were so low in price compared to some others that I found?

I'm sorry to hear about the accident and I'm glad the everyone was ok. Our Entourage's came from an auction too but they were orginally from a dealer in Georgia. They were at a dealership that went out of business and subsequently had a hail storm at the same time. We bought 2 more after that first one and the roof's of all of them were covered in hail damage. I'm willing to bet yours came from the same place. Check your roof for dents or any repair work. I was told they had about 60 Entoruage's at the auction and all had hail damage, some worse than others. That's why they were so cheap.

Either way, I think you got an excellent deal.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the roof when I get home. Either way, as long as I can't see it while I'm standing next to it, I don't care if it has some minor work done to repair hail damage.

Hey
Oh since then we can add some more issues...

dvdplayer died and had to be replaced.
engine noise continues.
now, i am getting a loud cans rattling type of noise from under the hood. after being in shop 2 days they said they could not hear it..(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I drove it for 2 seconds and guess what..obvious.

I hate this van and want to sell it however I will not get enough money back for it. Not sure if I told anyone but I called head office told them my troubles and asked for them to do something.. they said " we are sorry you feel that way sir" that was it!

FU Hyundai. If they won't help me I am going to put a sign on my car listing every problem i have had.

FYI to anyone interested in this van

Jim

I don't know if you still have the van or not, but have you considered getting an attorney to file a lemon law or federal breach of warranty claim, depending on your State's law and your vehicle/miles/# of problems and attempted repairs, etc. That's the direction I'm moving in...

Hello
Well another update, for the past 2-3weeks the van has been dead when we try to start it. Turns out there is a recall (that of course they did not notify us about) in regards to replacing a junction box causing a slow drain. Well its fixed now, however upon picking it up oddly enough the when you lock the car and set alarm via key fob the horn that goes beep beep has a different wimper tone? weird... had it checked out today they told me it was fine..... I asked if they had compared it to a similar van and they said it sounded the same..

well I went to pick it up tonite and asked to hear a similar vehicle. They had the shuttle entoruage and the horn sounded differently than mine! I said that is what mine used to sound like now mine is a wimp! they lied to me....

I hate hyundai and as soon as I can break even this thing is gone.

By the way, I have called head office and told them my concerns they said, ":sorry you feel that way sir" They do NOTHING.....

my two cents
Jim

Hello
I should mention that, I have asked the dealer to take it back or do something... they say call head office.

I have had many visits to the dealer.....many documented and even more not.

It should be noted I work for the city and I am in contact with numerous people daily in the community, since nothing gets done I am planning on telling my story to everyone. I figure they can screw me over fine, but I will not let it happen to others. At one point in Oct 09, I called head office and said that if they did nothing to help me, I was going to put on a sign on the side of the vehicle explaining why not to buy it.. ehhe travelling to and from Toronto, Niagara Falls, Brantford etc.. (southern ontario, Canada) It should get the message out.

demonseed. . . it sounds like you definitely got a lemon, and not a typical vehicle. At this point, I think trying to put a sign on your car to prove a point doesn't make sense. I'm not familiar with Canada's rules, but I would check with a lemon law attorney to see if you have a case against Hyundai. However, please be aware that your situation is not the norm, and also keep in mind that Hyundai corporate probably gets hundreds/thousands of calls a day and most of them are from people that have no right to call. This unfortunately makes it that much harder for those (like you) with true issues to get it resolved by making a phone call. If you want to get anywhere you need to follow the proper legal protocal and see if you have a legal right to get the vehicle bought back/replaced.

As far as the "beep" when you lock the car, I would say don't let the little things bother you. If the horn beeps normal when you need it, then don't worry about the little beep when you lock the doors. Maybe something happened when they were working on the car, but as long as it beeps to let you know it is locked, then what does it matter what it sounds like? Making a hassle over little things like this will make the dealership NOT want to help you and believe me, it sounds like you want them on your side. I know to you it is an annoyance, but again, I would say you can't let the little things bother you.

Maybe to make yourself feel a little better, do a search for transmission failure and Honda Odyssey's. You will find THOUSANDS of posts from people that have had their transmission replaced numerous times. My point is, Hyundai not only has had much lower price points than their competitors, but has also had great reliability. Bad mouthing Hyundai here because you got a lemon serves no point. Every manufacturer has that one vehicle that for whatever reason doesn't want to work right and that is why they have lemon laws. Have you spoken with an attorney yet? From your story and what little I know of lemon laws, it sounds like you would definitely have a case in the US at least. I just think speaking to an attorney would be a much more productive use of your time. Good luck!

While working on an Entourage a few months back I found that the plastic trumpets for both horns had broken and fallen off. They were laying at the bottom of the front fascia near the driving lights. I'd check that first. The horns are located high on the radiator support near each headlight and just below the plastic radiator cover. If the trumpets are missing, that would change the sound of the horn.
