ok, so i did some searching and found that 18x8 inch rims with a 38mm offset and 235/40R18 tires will fit my sonata
but then i got to thinking that i would wanna upgrade later to 19's so ive been looking for rim/tire packages that will fit but im not 100% positive.


The rims i wanna get are TSW Vairano 19x8" with a 40mm offset

Ive been thinking about these tires:

Sunny SN3800 235/35/ZR19
Goodyear Eagle F1 225/35/R19
Toyo Proxes 4 or T1R 225/35/ZR19


Which would be the best tire to get that would fit with no rubbing or would any of them work?

ok, a sonata 2006 , you can put up to 20" inch rims , with offset's between 38 to 48 depending on the size of rim u choose.

if you want 19" rims ., go with an offset of 40. and rim width of 8" inches. 19" X 8

and for the tire size go with the 235/35/19 or 245/35/19 although if you carry people in the back alot then dont get the 245 series go with 235

also i have 19" rims on my car with 245/35 series tires, and i have no rubbing at all.

Get the eagles or toyos. No name brand tires scare me.

agree with Dog... if you're gonna spend the money to get nice after-market rims (although, IMO, anything more then 18's look bad on the Sonata), dont kill it by getting crap tires... only get no-name tires for a beater car that you plan to get rid of within 20k miles... (like my old 91 Cavalier RS)

i rub with passengers in the rear with my 19x8.5 (offset 35) on 245/35/19s.
i bought 2 used perellis last night for $25 each, they are 245/45/r19 should i put them in the rear for a staggered look or put them in the front were it would fit with out issues yet look silly that i have bigger tires up front.

I agree with dog. Anytime you go off brand on the tires you're running the risk of putting your rims in danger of damage. Stick to the name brands. I have an 18" rim similar to the ones you're looking at, and wouldn't drop the cash on the rim without protecting them with that right tire.

If you're seriously considering the last two on that list, don't buy the Sunnys. I have them and while they provide good grip for the price, they are really noisy. However, on the plus side, they do last for a summer tire. I've had my set for about 7 months now and there's still no sign of noticeable wear. BTW, a 35 series sidewall on a 225 tire is extremely small.

i just got back from a local tire shop from wasitng $40 on trying to mount a 45 sidewall on my 19". if you drop the car nothign over 40 will fit without rolling fenders

Alright so i guess ill go with the Goodyear Eagle all season 235/35/r19

Even if i put the eibach lowering spring on it still shouldn't rub? The back is gunna stay stock but i think its a little lower than what the springs will do cuz i got a system in the trunk weighing it down

go for the one with the highest tread wear. if not ul be running thru tires like its daytona 500. i have 200 tread wear on my rear and they have been wearing out extremely fast considering that the front tires are taking all the abuse.

the eibach springs should do you fine. I was going to do the same thing on mine and just drop the front, I ordered some H&R springs off ebay, and im only going to drop the fronts., since my rear end is already lowered due to my 250 lb box in the trunk! the H&R springs drop a 1.4" inches in the fronts. and 1.3" in rear.
ill let you know how that comes out, im planning on dropping it this Thursday.

The Eagle f1 all seasons have a 420 treadwear

My brother has some toyo proxes on his jeep and if im not mistaken they have a 420 treadwear as well and hes' had em for about 5-6 months i think and they don't looks like they've worn at all

After some thought i have decided to go with 18's instead with a 235/40/r18 goodyear eagle f1 all season tire

The reason for the change is cuz ive been seeing a lot of bmw 5 series lately and i love how the rim to tire ratio looks and i finally looked at one in the parking lot yesterday and they have a 245/40/r/18 tire on em so i figure a 235 should look pretty similar

Rims - $844.80 Discount Tire Direct (Ebay) were $221 each, but on sale for $209 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

Powder coat - $200 ZPS Powder coating (Largo, Fl)

Tires - ~$135 a piece (Goodyear)....he couldn't get an exact price today since he's gettin em for what he pays and they were closed(Friends...what would you do without em (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) )

So far ive spent $1044.80 after monday add another $540 approximately


BUT, i just remembered that i need some hub centric rings so I probably wont get to put em on tuesday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif) Anyone know where i can get em cheap...or fast?

To get them fast it would probably be best to go to a local tire/wheel shop and get a set. It shouldn't be too expensive either.
