DO NOT go to Bestbuy!

So, I went to pick up my deck (Pioneer deh-7000BT) They only had the demo available for sale. They assume me everything that comes with the deck (usb, mic, aux, remote and manual) was included with the exception of the box. ok I don't need a box. I got it, they gave me free install (that day) plus wiring needed.

Alright, I was going to install this deck myself but hey, They'll do it for free and it's same day. easy peasy! why not.

I currently had the Sirius Module from my old deck I ripped out. I asked hey, can you just put that in. Wire it, mount it. Stating I was going to do it myself and since they were taking the deck out anyway it only takes 2 seconds! But guys, I cannot stress.. Leave the antenna out just dangle it onto my floor I will route the wire myself to how I want it. This installer could not stress enough about how it's his name on the install and he should do the wiring of the antenna. always saying it's my name I gotta make this install great! GREAT!!!

Picked my car up 2 hrs later no phone call it was ready no one called to tell me. What ever.

I hop in my car. Take a look. The trim that goes around the deck is half on half off! pft.
They scratched the **** out of my cover and dash trying to pry it off (Guys I'm not a real car guy but anyone who's anyone knows how to remove dash trim and other parts simple care tape clothes, proper tools!)
Sirius antenna.. WHERE IS IT! oh ya it's behind the dash somewhere! (shucks now I guess we forgot) USB? nope didn't have it with the demo deck (the mic 3.5mm female jack and USB come with the deck it even shows the pictures on pioneers website! the mic guys. is SEMI important as this the other half of the BLUETOOTH Communcation!) oh and the mic itself.. was not installed. aux was not connected properly either. oh and the REMOTE "what remote sir" the one that comes with the deck!!! "oh this one" (some complete off the wall old non model deck related remote) NO! NO! they found me a remote after 30 minutes of searching

Livid I contact and manager as the installations department is close that the time I pick up my car. He says "oh ya just come in saturday we'll have the install sup. have a look at it"

I said "How about you grab your camera take some pictures write a not on the back and we'll then resolve this Saturday"

He did so. Took a few pics printed them off wrote a note saying the damage was noted and signed his name with emp# ensuring me that this would be dealt with.

Saturday being the only day I can get this resolved due to conflicting schedules with my work and their install bay hours.

Quite frankly I feel that if someone was to purchase an item being assured that everything is there with the deck under the impression the install will be done 100% If any errors were to come up say no USB MIC REMOTE MANUAL you should be calling the customer and saying "hey this deck you bought. this and this are missing should we go on with the install!?"

This is my story. I know I should have done the install myself. As for the demo deck I've had my eye on that model for some time now. being in there a few weeks ago to buy the deck they were out of stock saying they'd have some more in and by chance I stop in yesterday (Tues) and they're not getting that model in any longer! I felt the need to grab it. I'm rather choked and I hope this issue is resolved my dash is restored (REPLACED).

Yeah, I went to BestBuy in Duluth MN for speakers last year. Salesman Slick comes jogging up, asks what I'm looking at (not for, at) so I told him I was pricing 2 1000w Monoblock D's. When his jaw disappeared from sight, so did I.

Futureshop is the same way. Luckily I went to school with half the store, when they didn't have the harness pigtail, they sold me a 4 gauge Stinger kit, and threw in my battery terminals for a penny each, normally $30.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) What a freaking nightmare. I would never go to Best for any auto installs. And your car is an '09? Sheesh, I would have been mortified at the scratches alone, cuz my cars stay new looking for at least the first three years. I baby the paint and the interior. I've already treated all the interior plastics with UV protectant, and also conditioned the leather on the wheel and shifter. I had some goof-ball scratch the interior of my brand new Elantra installing an alarm years ago. After that, I've been very careful about where I went, and who would be touching my car......no sketchy-looking 18 year old kids that drive beaters. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

The problem is, you can get that crappy service from ANY installer from ANY company. I know at the shop I work for (which is Best Buy) we have some very talented installers who have years of experience. With the 4 of us we have almost 50 years of experience and none of us are over 40! That sucks you got stuck with crappy people.
