Hi,

I have a 1992 Excel LS automatic. I could drive up to a certain point and then the engine stops. I have to wait a few minutes to start again. There's no spark at the plugs.

Sounds like your ignition module in your dizzy has failed. I would just check your coil lead first as my daughters car had a similar problem and it turned out that the HT lead from the coil too the dizzy wasn't pushed in properly. Actually destroyed the high tension lead end and the coil.
