Hi all,

I just got an i30 (YAY!), and I was going to try the USB to save me having to purchase the iPod cable. Problem is, it seems to not be recognised by my computer when I plug the USB in, it says "Hardware not found" or something similar, and I can't do anything with it.

Anyone have any ideas?! Would be much appreciated!

The i30 is my first ever NEW car, and I am so so thrilled with it!

Your USB stick must be formated under any of the FAT 8 or FAT 16 or FAT 32 (according to the manual). My presonal experience also is that we don't actually know how big capacity the audio system of i30 can handle. At first I had a 4 GB USB and everything were ok. After a while I get an 8 GB and till I hadn't fill it with music (at least 50%) everything were ok again. Lately I add more music that is more than 4 GB to my USB stick and suddenly it started the problems like:
1) Plays 1 or 2 songs and then it stops by saying "USB EMPTY"
2) When you switch the radio ON with the USB it says "Reading USB" (or something like that i don't remember right know the exact message) and stays like that forever.
When you switch off the radio and then back on sometimes it helps...

By the way accidentaly I discover how to see the model, version of software and version of firmware of the radio system:
When the radio it is off and shows temperature and time press simultaneusly the keys "1" and "6" and then for a short period it shows those information.

Mine is
Model A-200FDE
Software 1.04.EUR
Firmware FD200E52

(EUR) probably stands for EUROPE

I have an 8 gig stick filled to the brim with music, its not a good brand but i know its a fairly fast stick and it works perfectly as long as you format as above.look for a stick that is advertised as high speed.
