QUOTE (StoneIce @ Jan 16 2010, 02:45 PM) Anyone considered or got the Clarion CX609E upgrade offered by Hyundai UK?
OK, it's got no screen, satnav or DVD but it does include iPod, Bluetooth and RDS and at £305 it's less than 1/3 the price of the official Kenwood multimedia satnav upgrade they also offer (£1079).
Don't think either price includes fitting though. I installed the previous model (DUZ388RMP) and am really pleased with it - it is controlled by the steering wheel controls and was pretty much plug and play with an amplified ISO harness. Fitting is very simple, would happily talk you throug it/do it for you if you are close to South East London. Does anybody know if any of the 2 din DVD/gps models discussed in this thread work with an Iphone 3G? I've been using a bluetooth earphone thing that I'm sure is more dangerous than just using the phone whilst driving! Cheers

I installed the Waywell WD6001 in the wife's Santa Fe today and it worked for about 20 minutes. After I turn it on and was setting the radio presets and checking out the features the radio (set on FM) went silent. I thought I had muted by accident. The radio hunts for a station and can't find anything. CD"S do play. Also the steering wheel control button don't work like they are suppose to. When I push the mute button the volume on the radio goes down. If I push the select down button the volume on the radio goes up. If I push the volume up button the mode on the radio changes. The IGO GPS doesn't have text to speech, I think, I just don't hear any direction given. On the brighter side I do like the way the GPS looks. The bluetooth won't work with my Samsung phone.
Any help or suggestions would be great. I emailed Frank at Waywell (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Greetings,
Love my install, helped some six months ago by this excellent forum. My set up came with Tom-Tom which worked so I accepted it. Have been all over Europe and it's fine. However I have a new mobile phone which has come with CoPilot Live 8 - and I love this so wanted to put it on the radio. Cleaner interface, better mapping, more detail...
Bought the programme on a micro-SD, put the card into my radio (in the GPS slot), navigate to the folder in the GPS section, and found autostart.exe which I set to run when I came out and clocked the GPS soft switch. The process begins, but then I get a message to 'click on autostart.exe' in the 2722 folder.
It's there - as I say I can navigate on the launcher page to it...but (and here I feel really silly) while I can see this device is running Windows Mobile 5 from the final windows screen (and CoPilot 8 is happy with WM5 according to the blurb), there's no standard Windows Mobile interface as such...or a file manager where I can select this file and 'click on it'. Going in loops here...can anyone help?
Part of the issue is that CoPilot needs an install onto the device I think (and again nowhere can I see how much memory I have on the device as a standard WM phone etc..) and won't run just off the card. There's an automatic installer as described...but it's foxed me!
Anyone else successfully done this install (and then there'll be the nightmare of activation...)
Thanks, eternally grateful.

Once the sale is made the emails become scarce. Customer service is bad. I haven't heard of anyone getting stiffed yet so relax, it will come.

No emails from Frank at Waywell but the strange thing is the radio started to work. I installed the back up camera yesterday and works like a charm. The only problems I have as of now is the steering wheel controls not functioning correctly. I push mute and the volume goes up, I push volume down and the volume goes up and the select button changes the mode.
For those considering this head unit some of the pluses are 1) Good DVD video quality 2) the audio is the same as the stock unit 3) I have no hissing that some have reported 4) back up camera works flawlessly and come on automatically when the vehicle is put in reverse even if the unit is off 5) GPS IGO works great 6) looks like a stock head unit, silver colour matches exactly.
Now some on the bad stuff 1) customer service sucks, once they make the sale your pretty much on your own 2) because customer service is terrible I would have no idea how you would put a warranty claim in 3) instruction on the install are very poor. I found the wiring schematic on the radio was different then the connector, the connector was right 4) when navigating with the radio, ipod, USB or CD/DVD playing the GPS talks over the device that's working, it should turn the sound off then speak 6) The plastic installation mount from Metra need to be modified buy cutting and fitting to get the proper depth and they are very flimsy so getting it installed perfectly is pretty tough to do 6) installing the camera takes some work, I found it difficult to thread the wire from the hatch forward to the radio
Would I do it again? Yes because the benefits out way the negatives. The only thing I would like to see is the steering controls to work properly.

Ruggybuggy, Did Frank not offer a wiring harness option and mount that would connect to the 2007 SF's via plug and play? I've read through all 34 pages and at some point it seems they were offering a PnP harness of some sort for the US 2007 model. Maybe I'm just mistaking. I had asked Frank for the US wiring harness and he acted like he didn't understand what I needed. I even sent him pictures from this forum on the wiring connector differences and all I got for a response was to remove the radio and if the wiring connector is different let him know and he would send out the correct harness. I ended up just buying the harness myself. As far as poor customer service I just realized that Chinese New Year just ended on Feb 2 so he probably has a pile of emails to respond to.
