I have received a double-din head-unit shipped from China and I am surprised to see that it has got a Mos-Fet amplifier with 4x60W Max as the specs were saying 4x45W Max... I assumed I should be happy about that. The unit has got a Subwoofer RCA out too. I am planning on installing it on next weekend as I am still waiting for the Metra 95-7325 kit.
I am afraid the OEM speakers in my 2007 Santa Fe LMT with standard audio (no infinity) are not adequate and I would like to take full advantage of the unit I purchased.

Right now I am thinking to buy:
  • JVC CS-BB2 AMPLIFIED 6"SUB POWERED SUBWOOFER
  • PIONEER TS-D702P 6.75" 280W 2-WAY STEREO SPEAKERS

Not sure if above are adequate. Does anyone have experience with them or similar?
I was thinking to first try the OEM speakers, if not happy replace them with the Pioneer speakers, if not happy add the subwoofer.

Guess what... I did not like the unit, I am sending it back.
The main problem is that the screen is not readable in the daylight. Even tough the unit sounds great I am very disappointed.
So, heads-up buying a 7" touch screen made in China.

Hello!

I'm have a Santa fe 2007 and I'm looking for a replacemnet stereo and found this site. I am concerned though if it will fit my car. It says on www.szwaywell.com that it's for the 2008 model. Is it the same or have they changed anything?

I live in sweden and have read about differences in model between countries. Thank you

I have found that the different "Center Facia" (plastic around the cd player) on Norwegian models makes it not possible to fit this player.
Have also seen the same type of Center Facia in all the Swedish model i have checked out, when I have been to Sweden.

If you see previous posting in this thread, I got a part number for a new center facia. Haven't tried to order one yet.

Thanks Pugsley - I'm North side of Brisbane, in the Mt Mee area but working in WA most time. Looking to put a "ChinaCarGPS" unit in - just hope it all works, particularly the GPS bit (Route 66). I will take some pics and keep posted.

I got my unit from Cartek a few weeks ago ,its the same unit as waywells .cartek responded to email quickly and the price was $365 USD including shipping and igo maps, they posted it on a Friday lunch and i got it on Monday morning .very good unit IMO .I am in the UK and the unit was just plug and play no wiring to alter or cut.

When using igo does it have POI on the US and Canada maps? I though I read in an earlier post that trying to run all the POI in the US caused the unit to lock because the internal memory wasn't large enough. That would be the only deal breaker for me. Also does anyone think the 800 X 480 is a desirable option or do they all have this?

When I got the unit for the wife's SF, there was no maps or POI on the card. I had to add them in. There have been no lock up issue's at all that I have noticed with POI, Maps, Buildings etc. The internal memory is enough to have the entire US on it. However why use up all the card space for states your not driving in? This was/is a good unit, however when it dies moving over to the Pioneer F series since I have that in my Altima.

Hey Guys

There is a new unit out and seems very impressive. Supports RDS and can record up to 6 CD so you can play them back. Check it out and let me know what you think?

Can be found on Ebay.com search Hyundai Santa Fe 2 DIN. Sorry but the link thing wouldn't work for me.

Thanks for sharing the news. Nice to see more models come out for the Santy! Although, they explicitly say Car year: 2004-2007, are 1st and 2nd SF generation fully compatible...???
Anyway, $560 total looks pricey to me... considering that gps maps are demo only and it does not charge up the iPOD. The graphics looks impressive though.

Clyne said:hi,welcome to our website, anything i can do for you

You said:Can you tell me if the Car DVD player for New Hyundai Santa Fe + built-in GPS Navigation + Digital Screen + PIP Bluetooth ($424.99) allows the use of a back up camera? What does shipping to Canada cost and how long does it take? Can the unit charge an ipod? Does it come with GPS maps of Canada and United States that are up to date? Is it a direct replacement for the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe without any other purchases required to make it work and have a factory looking install?

Clyne said:freind, you could use the camera with the player

Clyne said:as for the shipping ,you could estimate in on line directly

Clyne said:Take the product to your shopping cart, and click "Estimate shipping cost", then the system will tell you the accurate shipping cost, you can choose the cheapest carrier.

You said:Will the unit fit as well as the factory unit? Does it come with everything needed to install into a 2007 Santa Fe (USA built). Some USA Santa Fe owner were reporting problems not having the correct wiring harness for their vehicles.

You said:Are these two the same items?

If we could get a group buy going the price would be right and we should save on shipping. Maybe some of the more technical types on the forum could review the technical data on the unts and comment on any shortcomings.

I have tried the SZC447 made in China model which I sent back because the display was not readable in the daylight. The screen was reflecting way too much light from any direction.
Any idea if the QL- STF708 has automatic backlight for day and night brightness? I could not figure that out from the specs.
