I'm very impressed! Has anyone thought of how this may impact the manufacturers warranty? Im tempted to get a similar system for mine. I'm just worried that the dealer may have issues with it in the future. In example; If I were to have an electrical problem with my vehicle, the dealer is more apt to blame it on this aftermarket product and may even void my warranty.

I specifically asked the salesman (who was also the manager) this when I bought my SF last year. He said that it would not invalidate the warranty. However, if you're worried either check with dealer that would do your warranty work or swap the stock radio back in when work is required (as already suggested).

I asked Hyundai UK about the warranty, this is their reply:

Thank you for your recent email.

"By fitting your own radio to your Hyundai Santa Fe would not invalidate your warranty, however this would be an unauthorised modification and should any fault occur in the future which was a cause of replacing your radio the repair would not be covered under warranty. All other manufacturing defects would be covered under warranty."

I have this in writing, so the dealer shouldnt normally quibble unless you have obviously caused the problem yourself. After all they want the work dont they?

I have just purchased this unit for my 2007 GLS Santa Fe and hope to get it by the weekend and install. I went with the TOM TOM, however I have other GPS software that would work as well so not really worried. I'll post info as soon as I get it installed and tested. I could use the instructions for removing the dash pieces if someone can PM me or email them that would be great.

I'm concerned about this integrating with the Infinity Logic7 surround and the 10 speakers we get in the US.
Is there a button that says Logic 7 or any 'surround' type buttons? And, for those of you (many?) that has issues with hum, whine, etc. Are they resolved now or still there?

I'm at a loss as to what to do. It seems if I want a backup camera either I don't buy the car or I get an aftermarket unit. And there's just not enough info on this to take the plunge for me. No youtubes showing speed of startup, etc. and I have big concerns about this integrating with the stereo properly.

To state the obvious, if you are that concerned then don't take the plunge - stick wth the factory installed HU! For those brave souls like me who did take the plunge, we are pleased with what is, after all, about a $400 unit which does most of what we need and with acceptable quality! And you have not even got into concerns as to how you will take out the dashboard trim in order to install it. No, I'm certain you should not purchase one of these units. It is a step too far.

Great thread by the way.

I'm not averse to a bit of DIY. However, did your audio doctor sort out the hum from the stereo? From your description that might be the only thing that could put me off.

The current nav on the Santa Fe/Veracruz is 400 x 234. This is 480 x 234.

G - the install doesn't seem difficult and something I would address if/when I decided the unit will work for me.

Thanks for the wealth of pictures and information on this unit, glospete. To everyone that has ordered from Waywell, is it safe to perform a bank transfer or wire the money to them directly??

I went to discuss it with him and he THINKS it may be a mismatch between the amp output from the Waywell unit going into the factory fitted amp under the seat (the Waywell unit has its own amp - 4x50w and the Hyundai in the UK has an amp fitted under the driver's seat). He can check it out but needs to remove the unit to do so. If it is what he suspects then he needs to fit a couple of "things" (not sure what he said they were!) next to the ISO/DIN plug to level the output. Cost will be about GBP50 plus labour. So I'll probably get him to check it at some time and rectify it if possible. Not a major concern for me though.

I paid by PayPal (small surcharge) but it gave me comfort. But another member used Western Union and has just received tracking details so I'm sure they (Waywell) are safe. BIt slow to respond to emails though!

Hi Silky
In the UK area where I live, the analogue TV signal is being switchd off on 6 May so the TV tuner is not something I was interested in. I didn't bother to buy or connect an aerial so can't say whether it works or not.

Sanjay
I bought a Kinetic MagnetwiG DA-1001PH DAB car aerial and it sits on its magnetic base above the passenger door (other side of roof rail). I then fed the cable behind the rubber door seal, under the seat and into the central box where I have the PURE Highway fitted. Can send you pics if required.

Hi Glukin

I actually find it rather useful especially as I have reversing sensors as well. Being able to see exactly what is behind and why the sensors are beeping is great. I tow a caravan and although not tested yet (too cold at the moment!) I think that hitching up will be easier being able to see the operation in the monitor. I bought my camera (a CAM100) from www.reversingcamerasuk.com and the link is:
http://shop.reversingcamerasuk.com/epages/...Products/CAM100
They are very knowledgeable and helpful.
The fitting is a bit fiddly - once the hatch trim was popped out I removed the section holding the number plate lights and bolted the camera to that with a couple of small botls and nuts. I then tapped into the reversing lights for the power (there are 2 different wires as well as the earth so check out which one first!). Then you need to run 2 cables to the unit at the front - one video cable and also a power cable to be able to switch the unit between mirror and normal image. I ran the cables mostly behind the rubber door seals.
It looks very neat as a finished job and the camera is in a good position.
See my earlier post re comments on the sound issue- it really is only ever noticeable (to me) when stationary.
