Some questions I have on the Entourage and its stereo and I was silly enough not to look into these items closer when I was looking at one yesterday - who better to ask how it operates than an owner. It was a 2008 Limited model that we were looking at. We are in Canada so I am not sure if there is a difference between the US and Canada model, but please post your answers regardless of where you are at - its much appreciated.

So, onto my questions ...

1) Stereo
- does the CD Player play MP3 CDs
- is it in fact a 6 CD Changer in the Limited

2) DVD
- Sound
i) Does the DVD play through the speakers in the van itself or
ii) Can you only listen to the DVD through wireless headphones

- Can you control the DVD with the remote from the front 2 seats of the van?

- General (DVD playback)
i) does the DVD disc go into the dash mounted stereo or
ii) does the DVD disc go into the roof mounted unit

3) Aux Input
- first of all what a disappointment it doesn't have this!! Oh well, how easy is it to add one? Anyone here done it?

I have recently found out that the version I am buying (perhaps its the Canadian version) does not have 6-CD changer, does not play MP3s and neither does it have a tape deck. Its disappointing that the stereo is so cheap across the model line here in Canada.

I think at some point I may have to replace the head unit because I am a BIG Ipod user. It looks as though what is called a Double-Din head unit will fit into the dash of the entourage.

I believe the Limited in Canada does support MP3. If you look in the owner's manual, there are stereos described that support MP3 and that do not. I have the base model and it does not support MP3. If the CD player supports MP3 then it should have an MP3 logo printed on it.

I have a 2008 LE and I'm upset too that it doesn't have an AUX input. Just seems bizarre that they would leave this out of a so called 660 watt infinity system. The satellite radio should be standard. I believe the Santa Fe and the Vera Cruz have them how could they leave it out.? That's the only thing, but it's a big thing I don't like about this van.

The Canadian version of the stereo is VERY basic. Something that I have found out is that that stereo in the Entourage is 'Double-Din' ... there is a lot of options out there for aftermarket stuff that would fit ... and hopefully ssome shops that will do a nice job of the replacement parts.

I have had stereos replaced before, in other vehicles and had good results.

Hey. A fellow Canadian from Toronto here. Looking at this van, it doesn't have what the American model gets (Infinity system). What i would like to know is how the DVD player plays through the speakers. I still haven't figured that out. What city r u from, and where did you purchase the van? Maybe we can share any future (knock on wood) problems or repair stories we may experience.

One more thing, i looked up the Future Shop site for the fit of the stereo in this van, and they seem to think a DIN is the right fit. Is that different from Double DIN?

The DVD player will either tune into a FM radio station (you can pick the station). Or you can use wireless headphones (2 come with the van), or you can simply use a portable radio with headphones as well. It works quite well. The other interesting thing is that the DVD player plays MP3s. There is nothing stopping you from loading up a DVD with MP3s and playing it through the DVD player. I have found the reception on the radio quite good so I haven't had much interference in the city to speak of.

This link pretty much answers the DIN and Double DIN thing as I understand it. I am not sure his measurements of height are exactly accurate (2" height) but the concept is correct.

I am pretty certain a Double DIN would be better but I am sure you could get a dash insert that would cover up things nicely. Another interesting note is that I heard that the '09 version of this van (or the Kia one) will have a aux input. Another option would be just to buy that stereo head unit and get it installed - they probably would charge a lot but you could be sure of a 'factory' fit and finish.
