I have a 2005 Terracan (auto) CRDI diesel, and am looking at purchasing a caravan suitable for the Terracan to tow. I reside in Western Australia.

I am looking at a caravan, tandem axles, 19.6 in total length with a tare weight of 1640 kg, would anyone out there towed something similar that could advise me on the Terracan performance, and any good/bad comments.

Also, I contacted Hyundai in relation to the Trek'n Tow system, but they no longer make them, and if one could be located it would be $2350.00, plus fitting. The Trek'n Tow would have allowed the mass tow bar load to be increased from 200kg to 250kg. Can anyone offer an alternative solution.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Hanktank,

There are a lot of options for aftermarket suspension in Oz. A lot of Terracan owners (me included) have fitted Ironman suspension and found this to be great.

Check out

http://forum.australia4wd.com/index.php?showforum=47

This is a great forum that is based in Oz and has a lot of Terracan owners on it (I am a member of that forum as well). You will find a lot of Terracan owners in Perth who have had suspension upgrades done and where they had them done at.

Cheers,

BJL
