Hi all, I have just put a tankful of BP Ultimate Diesel through the tcan. I normally get between 29 and 30 mpg, and this doesnt alter no matter how i drive. This stuff has only given me 26! To top it all the car stalled today and would not restart for the wife! She managed to start it on her own, but the car would hover around 500rpm on idle for a few seconds and then revert to normal. she also said that the check engine light was illuminating. I have just refilled with normal diesel and everything now seems fine. Any thoughts on whether this "ultimate" diesel caused this? I have not had a minutes trouble with the old girl (the car not the wife!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) until i put this in the tank. (It also cost me £9 extra to fill up with Ultimate)

BP ultimate diesel is not very popular and dos'nt sell well because most people wont pay the extra money for it, it could be that there was some water or moisture mixed in with the fuel that you bought, apart from that the 'ultimate' fuel should not have caused any problems with your engine. you are not gaining anything by paying extra for the BP ulitmate unless you are realy keen to lower your carbon footprint
