Hey everyone,

I just installed HID lights in my 07 Azera. I installed 6000K H8's in the fogs and was able to install 6000K H11's in the headlights with minor modifications. I absolutely love these lights. I got each set from sharphid.com for $100 a set, but later discovered I could have got the same exact item at ddmtuning.com for $60 a set. They even have a lifetime warranty. Yeah!! I was looking around different forums and the Sonata guys have our same situation with H11b's. One of the guys successfully installed the H11's in his car and gave a complete rundown on what it took to complete. Here is the link: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t30328-hid-3...or-the-2009.htm It only took a couple of hours to install the fogs and headlights. If anyone has any questions, feel free to reply.

Erick

I have an 09 Sonata and I'm about to tackle this as well.

Were the modifications hard?

Not at all. The hardest part was getting the headlight assemblies off the car. I did, however, do one thing different than the Sonata guy did. When I took out the plastic mounting ring that is held in by the three screws, I seperated the actual connector from the mounting ring. I then used my dremel to grind off the tabs that were used lock these two items together. I didn't have to cut or splice any wiring. The H11b connector, with the mounting tabs ground off, fit snugly in the new H11 connector.

You know, I didn't even think of trying that. I was all caught up in it and went a different road.

Glad that someone else could benefit from my exercise.

Hey Erick,

How did you install the HIDs for the foglights?
Also, did you use an extra relay harness? I read on ddm that they recommend the relay harness for cars running multiple HIDs.

Sorry, I'm new to installing HIDs.

I didn't use relays when I installed the fog lights. I installed 35 watt lamps in both the low beams and the fog lights. Since the lights are the same wattage as the originals, there wasn't a need. These are the first hid's I've used and I don't think I will ever go back to halogens.
