I have a 93' excel and I installed an air intake filter with tubing and all. But i cant install the mass air flow sensor because it is huge! If anyone has any ideas as in what I can do to modify or to tell me that simply I really don't need it I would be grateful.

that is the down fall of those huge mitsu maf sensors look into a jdm aftermarket site look at the adapters for the mirage or find and aftermarket company that sells tuning parts for kia the is a company in California that has parts and make custom kits for all kia and hmc vehicles oh yeah yes u need it or ur car doesnt run the maf measres how much and temp of air entering engine so it can know how much fuel is need for the current throttle position. if u have car running and uplug it the engine stalls and wont start till its plugged back in

On my 90 model excel i can put a pod filter in it and remove the afm, the car still runs it will run in loop mode but i think it drinks a bit more fuel than usual

Did u figure out a solution to your problem? Let me know if you didnt....I will take pics of my intake and let u know how I modded it to make it work with the Mass Flow Air Sensor.

I would like to know the solution i have a hyundai excel 1994 with tha same problem , the mass air flow sensor is to huge for my spectra intake the car wont even start
