Sorry, no pictures, it is dark so it would do you no good. I will have some posted tomorrow.

I noticed today I have some serious bubbling of the chrome reflector material at the TOP of the headlight. (this is the same area where you guys paint yours if that clears anything up.) Several smaller bubbles have popped up and there's one larger area that looks like (for all intents and purposes) the chrome plastic has melted.

I have never removed this light from the car, it has never been taken apart, and the headlight bulb is the same that it left the factory with. There's no way that I could have caused this as it's on a completely sealed portion of the light that I have not attempted to access.

Now, this is purely cosmetic, it's not on a portion of the headlight designed to reflect any light. With that said, anyone in the know on the details of Hyundai's warranty, can this be replaced under warranty? It's obviously a manufacturing defect or a durability issue with the light that I had no control over. However since (for now) it's a cosmetic issue, will that change anything? If it's bubbling there though, it's very possible the inside reflector could start doing the same which would represent a safety issue and they should replace it. Probably only a matter of time, this just happened within the last 2 weeks.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Sounds dumb but it comes down to the dealer. Hyundai is very good about warrantying things from what I have experienced. But some dealers tell you its not covered. I would think you should be ok.

Thanks. :) I figured it would be hit-or-miss. The dealer I deal with now *seems* to do alright, I'll see what happens. Time for another oil change anyway.

I dont know how it can be called, but Ill call it chrome failure lol.

They have to replace the whole headlight. They cant get just the trim.

if they wont replace it under warranty then do the black headlight mod lol

I couldn't even do the paint mod worth a doodie since the surface the paint needs to stick to is bubbled. :w00t:

Found a headlight on ebay but it's kinda for the wrong side. :P

there are other accent owners that would like to retrofit, but one of the most expensive things is getting a spare set of headlights to drive around while you retrofit the other set.

Yeah, but mine was worse then yours. The chrome was starting to split.
I did not even notice it till I was in front of my car with the lights on, and saw
little lines of light around the chrome. Then I took a closer look and it was covered
in bubbles. The dealership had no ides how it happened. They have seen something
like it before, but never on a Hyundai.
