Hi I'm looking at a 2001 GL 2wd. auto. 2.4L It has 140000 miles.
Timing belt/water pump, tranny flushed, and new exhaust pipe just done.
Looks it good shape, taken care of.
I have searched 2001 in the S.F. forum
Besides sensors going,( seems to be the norm)
What else should I be looking for?
Thanks

Just out of curiosity what sensors have you found to be going bad? My check light went on and I am almost certain that its my oxygen sensor. Im wondering if that is one that you have noticed to be failing a lot. Thanks

You seem to have done your homework. I knew a guy who had 225,000 miles on an '01 Santa Fe four-banger and it was purring like a kitten. No idea how it is now but I can imagine it's still going.

Honestly, I haven't heard much in the realm of bad sensors. A few common failure items are the tailgate lock solenoid (mine is starting to go) and the blower motor switch (so far so good, here). This is the most serious thing that comes to mind and it is serious. Subframe rust seems to be a common issue on 2001 models, especially those that spend time in areas with road salt.

That's about all I can think of at this point. I'll add more if my brain starts running 100% again.

Go for it if it checks out. The I4 Santy's are very reliable. Just make sure you check for the subframe rust, especially since you are in Canada.
