Another problem I have had happen to me exactly once. It was probably a fluke, but still, very strange, so I thought I'd see if anyone else has experienced it.

I was in a parking lot, facing another car. I went to put my car in reverse, but accidentally overreached and hit neutral. I noticed before I took my foot off the brake, and, thinking nothing of it, put it in reverse and went to pull out...only to have the car act as if it was still in neutral. Since I was on a slight incline, this meant sliding forward - towards the other car. I braked and didn't come close to hitting it, thank goodness. This was not the very slight sliding forward that is normal before the reverse action kicks in during any reverse movement - the car really was still in neutral, despite both the physical gear shift and the LCD display showing reverse. I thought, hmm, strange, and put it back in park, and then put it back in reverse, and it was still in neutral. I was a bit afraid I'd have to call a tow truck at this point. I turned off the engine/ignition, and then restarted, and put it in reverse again, at which point thankfully it acted completely normally. This never happened again.

Any thoughts? Has anyone heard of this happening or had it happen to them?

I had my car in the dealer's service shop today for the recall and they checked it out, but of course couldn't reproduce the problem, since it only had happened even to me once, and couldn't provide me with any information about it whatsoever. Even if it's a fluke it seems weird that it would only happen to me.
