This has happened to me twice now and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced it or knows anything about it. It seems weird that I could be the only one, so I imagine someone knows something!

Sometimes when listening to a CD, it plays normally, moving from one track to the next normally, but if I decide to skip a track, it won't skip. Then I realize that the track display has not actually changed for quite a few songs, and it is still displaying the track number / name from a few songs ago. CD will also not eject during this time. I tried turning off the power to the audio and then back on, and no good - still frozen. A few minutes later I tried again and was able to skip the track and eject and everything just like normal, and upon successfully skipping the track, the track display corrected itself. Very very weird. This happened once with a commercial CD and once with a burned mp3 CD. I had my car in the dealership service shop today for the recall and they couldn't reproduce the problem (no surprised there, since I listen to my CD player every time I drive and this has only happened twice), nor could they provide me with any information at all. They said they also didn't get any information from the scans / diagnostics tools, but I am not sure exactly what they use for testing.

Has anyone experienced this or heard anything like it?

Not in the Hyundai, but there are times i swear the Lincolns CD player is haunted...same kind of symptoms...happens rarely (fortunately) and no one has ever diagnosed it...Im gonna take a shot and say it may be a defective cd...but even that wouldn't satisfy...yer gonna live with it...if you took it some where that did professional instals, theyll only try to sell you a another head unit...

Just a thought...dig out yer owners manual and locate the fuse for the radio...and pull it...leave it out for 10-15 minutes or so...many tvs, radios, amps, receivers etc have an automatic reset feature when the power is off for a period of time...it may not solve yer problem, but it cant hurt anything either...and its easier than disconnecting a battery terminal and having yer onboard puter relearn everything..good luck

Mine too, but I thought it might have something to do with my MP3 discs, which is all I've played. I haven't tried a commercial CD yet.

Every once in a while, my CD player will freeze after the car has been off for some time with the CD still inserted. I have to press the radio and then go back to the CD mode before it will play normally. I've had it to the dealership for this, but they could not reproduce the problem. If it does more often, I will probably try and have a new player installed.
