I just bought a used 2004 santa fe and the stereo volume goes down to almost mute everytime i turn off the car so when I turn it on i have to turn on the volume everytime, there is nothing in the manual for the car that shows the actual deck i have in the car. anyone know how to make it so the volume just stays the same?

Is it the factory or an aftermarket stereo?

If it's the factory stereo I'm willing to bet you something's amiss. My friend's Audi will let you set the turn-on volume level but it's the only car I've ever seen that offers such a feature. Try searching eBay for a replacement radio and good luck.

Hi Rossco

If it's the MH 5064 stereo there is an initial volume setup feature. You set the volume to suit yourself and press and hold the power button for longer than 2 seconds to memorise the volume. That volume will now be the volume that the stereo reverts to everytime the car is started.

Sounds like yours has been inadvertantly set low at some stage.

PS to Lovemysantafe - you can now tell your audi mate that even standard SantaFe's have volume memory on their stereos!

Cheers Bruce
