what is the difference between Platinum and Iridium spark plugs? what is the difference and what are the pros and cons about both metals?

I would stick with NKG platinum, since that's OEM. These are very critical components to experiment with. The amount of spark, the gapping, timing of spark, etc. are carefully calibrated. Iridium has different "topology" which might result in better or worse. Why experiment?

no real reason too.. but was just curious. I know NGK makes Iridium plugs too.. but is there any benifits over platinum??
