Anybody ever try one of those gimmicky as seen on tv dent pullers? I was on vacation in WI and when I came back I had 8 or 9 small hail-like dents from acorns on my hood, roof, and trunk. We don't have any paintless dent removal places locally, and claiming it on insurance and going the traditional body shop route is such a hassle.

Might be worth the travel time to a Dent Doctor or similar firm rather than gambling on getting those suction things to work on your own. I've seen what they can do and if the paint is not cracked you'll never know the dent was there. Most of these firms work from a service truck and visit customers, especially dealer lots - ask your dealer (if they're close) who they use.

I have used one of those dent pullers. They work to a degree. The key is making sure you wipe the area to be pulled with an alohol wipe so that the adhesive used will get a good bond with the surface. Then...make sure you twist the knobs slowly. If you twist to fast, the bond will be broken and the dent will not pull out. Worked good with a light, fist sized dent (the metal was not creased). However, not sure how well it would perform on a door ding that's a bit sharper and the metal is slightly creased.

I figure its worth the 20 bucks to try. They are fairly small, but nice and round so I'm hoping they'll pull out.

If that's the case, I'm sure it would work. Like I said before...make sure you wipe the area well to remove all wax and or any residue, then apply the adhesive and move forward...slowly. It should work. I was successfull in removing a few shallow round dents in my Sonata with the Ding King.

Good luck!

Here's a link to the kit I have...

They work fairly well if it's on a relatively flat part of the metal. If it's near a crease or tight curve, nothing doing, it won't pull hard enough.
