I have been having the constant stalling issues as some have mentioned on here with my 02 accent 1.5l, 63k miles. Car would start then stall, then repeated attempts to restart failed, seems like a fuel issue. Replaced crank sensor with no luck...and finally after getting fed up with it brought it in. I just had the timing belt replaced at $300 which I expected to pay, so at the same time, had them check the stalling problem. After 6 hours, came back and told me it was the IACV ($175) and it needed an induction service. At first I didnt think that was the issue but I went and bought the part and installed it myself...2 bolts and unclip the sensor wire and 3 minutes later it was replaced, something the dealer wanted an hour labor for... I got the induction service done at $129... so the new part wouldnt be messed up with more carbon. The old part was pretty bad with carbon so it seemed correct to think this was the problem. After replacing the part it started right up and was running good. Idled a lot better and everything seemed good. 2 days later and I got to start it up and its back to the same crap it was doing before, doesnt want to start and stalled until i got it going again. I did have to stop for gas and it started right up after filling but I am a little **** that $300 later and its still not fixed.

5k miles ago I replaced the plugs and about 25k miles ago replaced the wires with aftermarkets. Dealer recommends new plugs and wires since they are not OEM... Any truth to that or is that a sales tactic?

They recommended a fuel injection cleaning, or course thats another $100... and i know its time for a fuel filter... any other thoughts as to how to fix this thing? Running out of money to throw into this...

After driving it another day, seems to just be a hard starting issue. Like there isnt fuel. Once its starts it doesnt stall like it used... so need to figure out why its not starting right away...

Just when I thought I had the issue fixed... Had Induction service done, changed to NGK Iridium plugs, replaced fuel filter, replaced IAC actuator, and it runs smooth onces its going, but still is hard to start, its like I need a priming button or something...

Lost with this one and never buying hyundai again...

do yourself a favor, check to see if you have a G code or N code engine, if its the 1.5. they take 2 different plugs. the G code's are longer and burn hotter. i just learned this the other day. autozone sold me the wrong plugs and it took me a month to figure out. the G or N is the 8th digit in the vin. and NGK does not make a plug for the G code. at least not that i have seen.

Ok, the 8th digit is a G, but I am not seeing how thats a problem, and if it was why would the manual call for the NGK-R plugs? I pulled the original plugs out of it long ago and remember that werent any longer than the ones I replaced them with...

What I am not hearing when starting the car, is the fuel pump priming. I read that it only primes when it senses the pressure is low but when it doesnt prime, doesnt start, when it does prime, it starts.... Maybe a relay going out? Shouldnt it prime everytime ?
