Hi
We purchased a 2002 getz gl hathc for our daughter and it has developed a loud knocking noise when the car slows down . As the car slows the noise slows down, its sounds rotational. I ahve cehcekd the tyre for stones and i am going to take the car back to the dealership because it is still under used car warranty. Have you ideas what it may be so they dont try to pull the wool over my eyes.
thanks

Hello,

I have same model as you. I found out that there were some small stones wedged under one of brake pads. So this weird sound was fixed. Few months later on another weird sound this time from the back of the car. Thing was: rear brakes (drums) were not aligned evenly - difference in braking power between left and right was 40% - got it fixed at the dealer in 15 mins time.

Hope this helps m8.

cheers!

Hi
well i went to the dealership who sold me the car (wasnt hyundai) and i got looked at oddly, dont think they believed me. They drove the car it didnt make the noise, then i pointed out that gentle braking didnt show it, so they braked a bit more heavily and would you believe it it did make the noise. They guys face and body language was a picture , here was i a mere female who knew a wrong noise when i heard one, honest even my duaghter commented his attitude changed when he heard it and acknowledged i was right. He said it was a very odd noise and booked it in to be checked . The outcome was it was an excessive amount of dust on the brakes drums, they cleaned them and said thats fixed it. Now this car was serviced the month before we got it so they missed this and didnt try and charge me which is good
