Hello, I am sorry if I am repeating an already resolved problem but I couldn't locate anything that could help me.
I have a 1998 Sonata that I purchased last year. I have had absolutely no problems with it (the only car I can make that claim with) until yesterday.
The temperature gauge shot up when I was coming home. I noticed, when I looked under the hood that neither the radiator fan or the air con fan were going. When I turn the airconditioning on both fans engage, but the temperature keeps going up. The only way I could get the car home was to turn the heater on and swelter. The temperature gauge behaved itself then.
There was plenty of coolant in the system and it seems to be flowing freely. There is also plenty of oil in the engine.
Could it be the relays? or the temperature sensor? or something more expensive?
Any suggestions that could point me in the right direction would be great!!
Thank you for your time.
