i had a letter from the dealer saying my 09 sonata limited armrest needs replaced; does anyone know what the issue is; i searched the forum and could not find anything;

Some Sonatas have an issue where the leather is not attached around the lid I believe. It becomes or is separated, there is a picture here that someone posted in jest which actually shows the problem. While I was getting the Navigation update they also checked mine but I passed, nothing was needed.

that's exactly the problem, but i'm not sure if its just leather, it may be cloth too. i'll have to check when I get to work tomorrow. they will check to see if the material is separating around the edges, and if it is, they will replace the entire armrest. dealers should already these in stock, we were given plenty of notice to place orders when the recall came out.
