hi all,

i'm new to this forum and new to modifying my car.

I own a 1993 Hyundai S Coupe (just standard with no turbo) it has all stock parts.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on it, like what rims to get, what type of engine, where i can get body kits from... Just any information at all would be a great help.

i live in Perth, Australia. But am willing to purchase from overseas if need be.

Thank you in advance.

Rims: dont know excactly vut 205/40 17" will fit with certain ET values.

Rims has to be 4x114.3 bolt pattern and ET 42 or less. ET 32 fits for the front and something like ET20 for the rear wheels when using 7-7.5" width rims.

Stock ET is 42.

Hi Newbie.

As you can see we're a bit techie. The post above should show you what you CAN achieve with the beloved S-Coupe.

Unfortuantely, there are only a couple of S-Coupe made bodykits and they are not easy to source these days.
You are better of finding a DONOR car. (One of similar bumper size and shape) and modifying it to fit. 1. This will look differnet and 2. be unique and 3 cost less than a custom made kit.
E.g. I would like to install a Nissan Skyline Front bumper on my car.

Wheels:
You can go up to 18inches if you wish but the norm seems to be either 15" or 17"
With 17" alloys you're best to go for 205 to 215/40/15 tyres. These will fit nicely and should not rub. Most wheel webiste will cater for the S-Coupe as they are a standard wheel size.
PCD = Diameter between the wheel nuts. The S-Coupe has 4 x 114.3mm PCD. (Same as a nissan 200sx)
ET = Offest of the wheel is about 35 to 45 mm. I am not 100% on this.

Exhaust:
Definately go for a custom one. If you live in the UK then go for Longlife, the make good quality exhausts for ALL cars.

Suspension:
There are loads of srping kits out there and is you search for SUSPENSION in the forum, you will find alot of info.

The rest...is up to you.

Hop this helps

Not bad Idea but keep in mind that scoupe is quite much narrower than same cars from same era. I have here 92-95 some Civic bumber and it has to modified a lot to get it fit right way because even the civic is many centimeters wider than little scoupe.

Thatīs really the point of owning scoupe, finding humorous details about it and still making it work.

You;re right.

The S-Coupe is very narrow...but that can be a good thing, meaning nearly all Jap cars...eg. 200sx, skyline, civic, toyota, subaru etc....

will fit the S-Coupe, they just need to have the cetre cut out.

Alot of the mods I'm going to fit are form other cars.

Do you think Skyline Front bumper would look good? I think so, should fit an intercooler alot better too.

No point in buying an aftermarket one when the standard ones look so good.

Not sure what one to get yet but i think and R33/34 GTS-T or GTR bumper would look spiffing!

And for the back I'm fitting a BMW M5 Carbon Fibre Rear Diffuser.

THanks for the pics....very nice.

Not that front bumper...its a bit too blocky....i know which one I mean but it might even be an aftermetet one. I've seen a few 200xs afertmarket ones that look sweet. Guess it's just a case of shopping around

I like subtle lines but turn an aggressive nature....nice S-Coupe by the way.

Like the spoiler, not over the top but noticably different.

You running on 17 inches?

Thanks about comments. :) They're 16" as I thought it would be good compromise between performance and looks and nowadays 16" are little bit rarer as everybody has at least 17" rims and combined to fact that these cars are rare, having these kind of little details makes it more impressive (or something like that.. )

I like your view...keep it rare and unique.

For some reason 16inch tyres are quite expensive, more than 17inches sometimes.

I want 17s but I would like to get some proprly sorted suspenion first.
