So here we go 10/09/07 I bought my 2005 tucson with 32k on it. Came with a full 5yr 60k warranty along with a complete inspection of the vehicle. 1 month after owning it the nightmare began. I began to see spots on my driveway, I layed underneath it and found the transfer case was leaking. I work at a shop so i pulled the tsb's and found that their was a tsb on the seal connecting the case to the tranny. I called scheduled an appt and dropped the car off along with the paper work. 7 visits and 40 days all together with out my car later the problem is found that the seal is leaking, each time the work order read something differnet, couldn't find leak or drain plug was leaking. Finally at 44k they decided it was the seal, they pull the case out and see that my other complaint of the car shifting bad is because the tranny has an internal leak. They replace the tranny with a reman tranny and replace the seal along with the axle seals and put it all back together. I pick the car up 12 days later and on the way home had to pull up the e brake to stop from slamming the car in front of me because i later found out they broke the abs reluctor ring and the abs would engage at random times. They fixed it, I figured now the car is done and the problems are over with. Guess again, I take a 4hr trip and find that the transfer case is leaking again and that the car is getting horrible gas mileage and not kicking into high gear and revving around 4 grand at 65mph. I take it back to the shop, they find that 8k later the same seal is leaking. I contact Regional rep Scott Mclarty and by the end of the phone call (i had spoke to him the first time the car had issues and it took 7 visits to fix it) nothing was accomplished out side of him telling me that the warranty states that the problem will be fixed and that nowhere in the warranty does it state they have to look for the cause of the issue, they only have to fix what is wrong with it . He calls me a Fu**ing idiot and tells me I am full of Sh** to think that running a transfer case low for 20k could cause damage to the internals. I told him I wanted his boss to call me because him cursing at me was very un proffesional and that I knew nothing was going to be done . His boss calls me and pretty much tells me the same thing, that I could sell the car if I didn't like it and That they were going to do nothing more for me. So now I am stuck with a pc of garbage HYUNDAI TUCSON. It gets 15-16 mpg tranny is messed up and the front end is falling apart all at 50k. Do not buy one of these cars, The dealer ship is Kerry of florence ky and the regional rep is Scott Mclarty and His boss is Mike Z. I have their numbers if anyone needs them for anything and have already started the paper work with an attorney and contacted BBB. I would like any other help anyone has or suggestions on how to get something done.

Well I don't know as I have had nothing but superior Service from every

Hyundai Service Department in California, Florida, and Arizona.

You sound somewhat like a Hot :w00t: Head

With that said you should look into another area Dealer, perhaps

in another City or State if possible. (Your name is tarnished in the Tri County Area.)

Does the Lemon Law apply in your State? Good luck, & keep the faith in Hyundai :trophy:

One unhappy owner of a Tucson and about 50,000 Happy ones so Hyundai don't get it wrong all the time but it sounds to me as though you ought to take the advice of MiamiLX and go for another dealer- who may take a different view to your current one. If it was leaking when you got it back why carry on driving it? You should have returned it straight away and asked for a loaner till they got it right- Now you have had a new Transmission so that shows the warranty bonefides of Hyundai standing up to be counted- it obviously needs looking at again for the problem to be resolved.
Bet you wouldn't find many US manufacturers looking after their customers so well or you wouldn'y have need for lemon laws would you?
You bought the Tuc about 2 years after it was manufactured new and there is no way of knowing what the previous owner did to it is there? (He could have used it off road daily and thereby caused unknown problems. and you now have the balance of the original 5 year warranty- Hyundai look after their vehicle owners be they New or secondhand like yourself and fix problems -so let them fix it- it sounds like you have bought a vehicle that for some reason or other you no longer want and you are blaming the problem on Hyundai and the Tucson - and picking up on a fault that would be fixed at no cost to you if only you deal with it correctly.

You probably won't agree with me or MiamiLX either but thats my half pennyworth anyhow.

Itza :innocent:

here's my point, I have tried to get them to do a trade in on my suv. The reason I'm so mad is that I ran a shop for 5 yrs and with that being said also have a college education in automotive. My point is that the same seal has blown out 2 times. The first time it goes bad and they replace it (this is the right thing to do) second time it goes bad instead of finding the reason it keeps going bad they just replace it again. Anyone that knows anything about cars knows that if a seal keeps going out there is another reason, possible heat possible fluid issues. who knows, I just want them to check it out instead of pushing me out the door. And the reason I'm still driving it is because the service writer, Dave Chasteen told me they were done looking at my car and any problems that occur in the future have to be okay'd by Scott Mclarty before my car can be inspected. I understand they manufacture who knows how many thousands or cars a year, every once in a while you will have a defect, all I want them to do is let me trade it in and not be upside down or buy it back so I can go get a car somewhere else. I need this car but I will be screwed if the transfer case goes out in the future after the warranty.

You see now you are getting Silly. The Dealer has NO obligation to buy

your used Hyundai which you bought used :whistling:

"all I want them to do is let me trade it in and not be upside down or buy it back so I can go get a car somewhere else"

Read some of these other Hyundai Complaints. In fact you should file one. But

what you are asking for is absurd. You sound just like these unhappy owners :57:

Run a CarFax Report.

Used cars are just that, USED.

Although you may be a curtious driver, the 19-year-old that cleared his buddies record for jumping the railroad track with 5 people in the car was not.

"Pre-loved", "Almost New", "Tested" .............. ALL MEAN USED.

I've seen cars CUT-IN-HALF to make one used car. If you want 100% - BUY NEW.

Quote: "I pick the car up 12 days later and on the way home had to pull up the e brake to stop from slamming the car in front of me ...."

Slowdown, if they broke a connector why would it take 12 days to show up?

You do know they rent them in Colorado and sell them before 33k. Thank goodness there are no mountainous terain to strain the rentals.

Live and learn bro, research twice as much on used cars.
