:00000732: santafe girl,
What tha...! 3 cylinders in a 3.5 liter 2005 Santa Fe, less than 55K miles!!!
Just to confirm, you have had to replace pistons, rings, maybe connecting rods and bearings in 3 cylinders of a six-cylinder engine. First off, google 'Pennsylvania Lemon Law' and see if you have 3 similar or 'like' engine repairs to your Santa Fe within 12 months that deprived you of 'use'...the dealer had your car, you did not....for 30 days or more. If you read the same as I read, call the Hyundai USA customer hotline. You might be entitled to a new engine or more...please consult your attorney and this does not constitute legal advice. Also, you have an arbitration & mediation option that does not cost you anything to pursue. If needed, a call to your PA state attorney general may be handy.
http://www.hyundaiusa.com/global/warranty/warranty.aspxAbsolutely, this is a lot. The catalytic converter failed(but is covered with 80K mile emissions warranty...see your owner's manual) because the engine problem was never properly fixed...the cat ran rich, probably exceeded the upper temp limit of 1800 degrees, probably melted some of the honeycomb inside.
As far as no renter or loaner, this is now dealer discretion but they should be kissing your behind. Many dealers have a preferred rental rate with Enterprise IF THE SERVICE WRITER calls it in....runs abour $23 a day in Colorado.
Burn up the phone lines with national customer sevice, you are being treated shabbily.
