the girlfriend's OEM battery is nearing it's end. i am about to go buy her a new one this weekend, and was wondering what some of you guys have put back in it's place? have you gone with a larger sized battery with more CCA's?

we live in Chicago and our winter's here can be pretty brutal and I don't want her to be left stranded somewhere due to not having enough juice.

the stock battery worked just fine, but I thought that since I was getting a new one, now might be the perfect time to upgrade.

any helpful info would be appreciated.

700 CCA is more than enough. I prefer sticking to this specs, since the battery is easily obtainable. +700 CCA batteries are there, but they might need adjustments to fit the battery tray and/or the +ve/-ve terminals might be different.
I would recommend BOSCH, Dura.., Ever.. over Hyundai. I think it's 24F. If you dough - go for Optima. Also Midas sells some good Nascar brand batteries.

I've been running a Dual post Optima yellow top for almost 2 years now and have nothing but good things to say about it. It has easily handled the load I throw at it for shows.
