Hi guys, Im considering replacing my allmost dead 91 L300 with a diesel 98-02 h100.

Can anyone tell me the relationship between the L300 and the h100?

are the h100's running the mitsi motor/gbox?

Ive seen a few advertised as 2.5L and also 2.6L diesels

there seem to be a few electical gremlins with these h100's, anything else they suffer from? rust? leaky (oil) motors?

thanks

Hello kev.
Look at the oil pipes between the oil cooler behind the front bumper, and the engine.
They corrode and break, which will spill all your oil very quickly, especially if you`re doing 70mph on the M62..
This will definitely kill your engine, check the ebay ads re breaking H100s. This is usually the cause.
easy to replace though.
The is NO manual for this van. At least, none you can get hold of.
Only dealers service depts have manuals.
I only ever saw one on ebay from a bankrupt garage, it went for £60.00
I use the russek L300 manual which is close enough for most stuff.
Loads of L300 parts are used on the H100, inc ball joints, exhaust systems, bearings, engine pumps and seals etc.
The engine is basically the same as your 2.5 td L300
Good luck finding a good van.
