Hello there fellows HF members;

Take a look at the pictures and if you can let me know if I am right.

The line with blue marking on it, would be the cold return from the upper part of the radiator/cooler, going back to the tranny? Yes or No?

The line with the red marking on it, would be the hot supply line from the tranny going to the lower part of the radiator/cooler? Yes or No?

The tension clips (circled in yellow) are removable with plummer's pliers?

If I am to do a flush, the best rubber line to removed would be the cold return line to the tranny?

I would then plug in an additionnal line from the radiator/cooler to my "dirty fluid" pan; and another additional line from my hand pump to the tranny return.

Does that sounds good to you guys so far?
Let me know.

:w00t: Aerostar_ca :w00t:

Because the tranny itself does not have a cooler! The AT hot fluids travels from the tranny to the radiator/cooler where it is cooled down and travels back to the tranny through rubber hoses assembly.

Do you let someone else make love to your spouse?
Will you let someone else take care of your parents when they will be on ther deaf bed?
Did you let someone else raise your children?

This question is ask so often, and for what reason?
Are you "trolling"?
Nowhere in my post did I ask if you think if I should do it myself!

I am doing it myself, for the satisfaction of knowing that I am mechanically inclined enought to do it myself.
If you owned a vehicle and cannot bear the hardship of taking care of it by yourself, this is not a problem with me; I say go ahead and let someone else do it.

So; if you do not have the answers that the OP is asking for, could you please abstain from replying in the future.

Thank you very much "ddix1026", have a wounderfull day.

Hmmm.... Let's see.... Wait, I'm thinking..... I need to concentrate.... Hmmmm... You know what, the guy makes a good point.

Me, personally, I let the professionals do it. Oil change, tranny flush, coolant flush, take care of the wife too.

My Sonata has a tranny cooler. I thought this was a standard feature on all the 2006+ :57:

I'm in. What kind of "trolling" motor do you use?

ddix was just suggestioning something I would offer. I'm inclined but tool and time deficient to do the work myself. (don't make me use the dictionary again :rant2: ) The bifocals need changed.

Nice pic iceage. Who's the blonde in the Crown Royal shirt?

Your comment was obviously a joke, but it was also completely necessary and added no value. That's a pretty common occurrence on this board - the usual suspects throw some "witty" crap out to get their post count up and then follow it with a stupid smiley to make it OK. I've noticed that the makeup of this board is changing as the early 4Gs get older and cheaper, and they fall out of warranty. The older cars get bought up by owners with more mechanical talent and time then money, and they want to fix it themselves. So they come here looking for technical advise and all they get is :w00t: :whistling: :bwekk: :innocent: :) :460:

There are other boards on this forum for anyone who wants to shoot the **** and show everyone how witty they are. Let's use this one as it was intended; to convey technical info about 4G Sonatas.

End of rant. :amen:

i suppose the 5-6 different race threads that have been posted add value? or opening up 2-3 separate threads about the same cars' exhaust adds value? or opening up a thread to say how much you love the Genesis adds value to a Sonata forum? come on..

my one line post that was a joke did not need a 20-line response from the original poster (who has been on here since 2005 and he obviously isnt one of those "bought a used 4G Sonata and decided to fix it up" kind of people) nor another backlash from you.. the fact that you and the original poster have hijacked your own thread to single out a 1-line joke response is a shame...

Whatever......the point is, this board is clogged with way more useless posts than any other forum I've ever frequented. I guess I just have to lower my expectations and accept the fact that this board is populated by a significant number of bloviators who are just here to grace us with their witty banter. For now, there are still enough folks who share actual technical and anecdotal information to keep me interested. :460:

(Note presence of pink elephant to indicate tongue-in-cheek humor if this post offends anyone.)

Replying with "I am doing it myself, for the satisfaction of knowing that I am mechanically inclined enought to do it myself." was totally sufficient, theiceage05.... There was no need to lecture in such length any other poster who responded with a one-line post.

Why, did you have a question? :whistling:

Everyone does their own Transmission Flush at home now. It's fun!

You can get one of those machines at Pep Boys now for around $10,000
