Driving into work today, at 40 mph i noticed a kinda of hum noise. Nothing feels loose in steering, no vibration felt, braking seems fine. I noticed if you are doing 40 mph and turn the wheel to the left the noise goes away, turn right noise is still there. Any ideas? It sounds like tread tire noise, but it just started today. Possible wheel bearing? Thanks

I used to drive a Ford Explorer, and that's exactly what I experienced. It was indeed a bad wheel bearing.

Is it easy to change a wheel bearing? did you need to have a aligment after that?

Bearings kinda suck. I had a 94 Saturn Sc2 which i replaced the bearings. they had to be pressed in. And anytime you do front end work, i recommend a front end alignment. I'm replacing the axles as well, due to the one boot being ripped.
