Anyone had a problem with the mirrors not working on their NF Sonata? Mine have never really moved very well since I got the car new (2 1/2 years ago, have 40k on it now) The switch seems to have quit working as neither mirror moves at all now. I''ll be taking it in but wanted to see if any others have had this problem? This is the first warranty issue I''ve had with the car so I suppose it isn''t too bad.

I just noticed that my drivers side mirror doesn't seem to move side to side anymore. I will have it checked out next time I take the car in for something.

Move the L-R selector back and forth a few times and at the same time press the 4-way button in multiple directions.

Went thru car wash couple days ago, and while driving to work yesterday I noticed my passenger side mirror was pushed all the way out, must have caused by the guy who was working on my car. I tried correcting it using the button horizontaly but it won't budge. Moving it vertically it was moving OK, and after several attempts it was moving also horizontaly.

As spex suggested, play with it a little. If still stuck, I would try to move it MANUALLY to the middle position, and then try adjusting it from inside, using the button.

My switch it kinda odd, it will not move the left mirror unless I push the selector switch really hard to the left. After that it will work fine. I figured I rarely move the mirrors and the dealer will probably screw something else up if I take it in. Maybe the switch design is just bad.

I've had problems too. . . normally playing with it a little bit and moving the center piece from L to R a few times fixed it. I've just been too busy/lazy to take it in for them to look at it.

My sonata has the same problem. I believe it's the switch because it doesn't move left or right on either mirror unless I play with the switch for a while. I may pull the door panel and coat the connections with dielectric grease.

I agree, I believe it is a switch problem. What connections would you put the non conductive grease on and how would that help?

Mine wouldn't move left and right after it was "manually" moved during car washes etc. I actually moved it all the way in I think manually and then held the switch to move it all the way in also. After a short time it started to jump like the gears were at the end. Since then it works normally.

My power mirrors were getting troublesome not long after I bought my car. I'd press the switch for one direction but the mirrors would go diaganolly and such, or nowhere at all. Quick fix by the dealer and all was well!

I am going to play around with mine a bit more before going to the dealer. I'll post the results. It sounds like it'll need to go in though. I didn't realize this was such a widespread problem! Mine is an early NF, built Oct 2005.

Pretty sure Gracie's "born on" date is April 2005 - got her in early May.
