Ok, click the below links for the varying angles of the car:

Side Pic
Front Pic
Rear Pic

Don't worry about the number plate, I have a personal plate on it now.

I want to replace the rear bumper with something a little nicer, and flatter so it doesn't poke out so much.

Going to remove those horrible looking black bits off the sides. I dunno how they're fitted onto the doors, but I'm hoping they're not stuck on with some sort of glue, and are screwed/bolted on inside the door.

If that turns out to be the case, it just means there'll be a couple of holes that the screw/bolt bits go through, and I'll put something else in them to use them. Maybe get a thin stripe of metal to replace the nasty blackness, and spray on something to protect it from rust.

The interior stuff though.. well that's a long list =S

I'll go through the interior stuff later, as it's only worth doing if I can get the rear bumper sorted out. If I can't, then I may reconsider the project, and find an accent coupe instead.

We shall see.

Erm, does anyone know where I can get a different rear bumper from? Bear in mind it's a 4 door saloon accent, and not the coupe version.

Google isn't helping at all =/

dont waste your money.

you will spend about 8grand in total body work the car will die in 2 years and no one will buy it.

just buy a toyota or something that will last, put some money in that and have fun. use the accent as your daily driver while you build a real car.

That's where you're completely wrong.

I've been budgeting for the project since these posts, and my local bodyshop will do a respray of the car, including putting on a bodykit for £1600, give or take £50.

I can have the seats redone in leather for £1350, if I go to an independant upholsterer. If I go to a nearby port where they deliver the cars before sending them to dealers, there's people there that install leather seating prior to dealer delivery. I can talk to them and get it done cheaper.

There's only about another £500 in total for other costs, like new speakers and respraying the interior door panels door panels, cd-changer and a few interior lights.

I've had the car almost 2.5 years, and I've had ZERO problems with it.

I dunno where you got 8 grand from, or why you think it'll be dead in 2 years.

I can only guess that you don't look after your cars.

Maybe where you are from Hyundais are better, but here in USA. I have gotten one and the tranny blew with 50 miles.

I also had one that blew the headgasket at 200 miles.

and my "best" one died at 120k miles.

My current one has cost me over 1000$ in repairs and only has 40k miles on it.

My 1987 toyota has cost me 0$ in repairs and has 250k miles on it. i am going to redo the head and have it last another 100k easily.

Accents are ugly little junky cars, it's sad that you'd put thousands of dollars in it.

Make sure to put pics tho to prove me wrong as id love to see an actually cool accent.

My accent will be one of a kind when it's finished, of that there'll be no doubt.

I'll sort out pics when I actually get round to doing everything.

For now though, I don't have enough time =/

It's a fog light.

When I get the time and pennies, I'll be getting a second one to add to the body kit.

I like symmetry!

The light in the rear window is a brake light.

Not sure what amount to change it by, but I do wanna lower the car a bit so the front arch isn't so obviously higher than the rear arch.

I'm thinking about 0.5 inches. What do you guys think?

Sorry Wufflez for my ignorance, but why is it red? and on our back bumper.

In Canada we have fog lights too and they are in the bottom of the front bumper... and they are white (or blue)

In the UK, we have red fog lights on the rear of our cars, as it's a requirement by UK law.

They're red in colour, so that they're the same as rear lights and rear brake lights. Keeps the lights on the rear of UK cars uniform (except for reverse lights and indicators).

If they were white, people behind would think a car was coming towards them, not away from them.
It'd be very confusing, especially when you're already trying to drive in fog and not crash into things.
