That's all I need too. For a custom-bent mandrel bend like that, it shouldn't run anymore than 75 bucks or so. I know a custom mandrel place that can do one like that for around that price anyway.

the pipe costs..... probly two bucks. the time it takes is probly 5 min. my opinion is your gettin ripped off for a bent pipe. you could probly find a pipe for another car on ebay with the same or close bends and lengh for 20 bucks including shipping

That's what I did.I used one off ebay for a 91-93 Accord, cut it past the vacuum outlet and put a $ Spectre 60 degree turn on it for a total of $31.Then simply order the filter of your choice.I used the Amsoil one for $61 s+h.
One solid tube would be easier to stabilize and the Spectre is chrome plastic. But I've had no problems:57:

Last time I checked, Mandrel benders go for around $100,000... most shops are still trying to pay that off. Thus, the high price of pipe bending.

yup mee too but they would make the mula on bigger products, its not as though they are mass producing something. it still makes zero economic sense to chage that absurd (sp dont care) of a mark up on something so simple. like exhaust. i did my exhaust on my car for 50 bucks. that was including the muffler. i found out that just for the custom work, my boss art the time owuld have charged 6-700 bucks. and the muffler i think fit a corolla. cost was 30 bucks. mark up? 300. whats the point? greed. that why our lives will suk butt for the next 10 years if the US continues to destroy the global economy.... uhhhh too much of a rant there i know.

An explanation on how parts get made.

First we have to start with a design. I honestly expect to sell maybe 20 in the next year. I have been doing this for a while so I know where we are at with this.

I purchased one of AEMs units and test fit without the bracket to see what it would take to put this together, Cost so far $400

Then I found a company to make these for me. The tubing is cheap, bending, welding the extra tube in place and the polishing is not.

Then I buy filters and pay more shipping

Then we buy boxes and more shipping.

Connectors and clamps and more shipping.

You also have to pay for setup, test fitting, which usually gives one unit away.

So, on the first 10, I brake even with my current price.

I would love to say I make a bundle, I dont lol!!!

So the answer to your question. Sorry, no we dont just sell the tube.

Bill
