Drives: 2009 Hyundai Sonata gls 2.4L DOHC powder white pearl with option package, power drive seat, lumbar support, trip computer, auto light control, ect:
Hello everyone, I was reading the forums in regard to the 60000 checkup and having to get the timing belt changed in order to hold on to the 100,000 warranty. I just got a 2009 sonata I4 and was looking through the owners handbook and it states that the 100,000 10 year warranty covers the timing chain. Does that mean that the 09s have a timing chain instead of a belt? ( just curious, new to the forum)

Yes the 09 I4 has a morse timing chain for both cam and vibration dampner.
