I know what you are saying about the mileage. I was not very impressed either. I also own a 99 Caddy STS that has the 4.9 liter 300+hp motor and believe it or not, it gets better mileage on the hwy then the Limited. Gets about 28 with the cruise control set to 70. More power=less demand on motor. Caddy gets about 13-14 in the city. Caddy is a much better car but still like the Azera

I've gotten up to 31MPG on my 07 (nov 07 build) unlimited. This, however is if we drive conservatively at around 55 to 60 MPG highway only.

Overall our MPG averages 25 for the 20K we've had the car for driving between 70 and 80 mph. We can easily push it to 28 or 29 if we drive at 60 mph on the highway, but this is not always practical in northern california, as people will get very upset at the low speed.

Looks like this is an old/dead thread, but I'm new here, so ....

QUOTE (Gamle-ged @ Nov 24 2008, 09:07 AM) *
By the way, here's a site listing national gas prices, right down to the station level (if someone has bothered to report the station price within the last 48 hours)...

http://www.floridastategasprices.com/price_by_county.aspx

Hmmm, your gas price link doesn't seem to be working .... Here is one with sublinks to every state ... and maybe (?) every zip code.
http://gasbuddy.com/

I believe the cookies at the site will remember your locality, so you don't have to select your state & zipcode each time you surf to it. I'm sure others here are aware of it, and have maybe posted the link already? It also gets to the street/station level, and if you like to save on gas like I do, you will love it!!

I realize the business costs of every gas station are not the same (different overheads, property lease terms, employee costs, etc), however I think that competitively priced gas stations should be REWARDED .... by purchasing their fuel .... which I do!!
.... though no longer (as I did in my 20's & 30's) will I drive an extra 5 or 10 (or more) miles to gas up there (spending time & extra fuel burn to get there & back) .... UNLESS I have a planned trip nearby a better priced station of course!

Walmart (despite all the + and - about the company) succeeded BECAUSE they give the consumer prices worth paying.

That being said, I do my best to avoid buying ANYTHING from mainland China & other scurvy nations who will one day help ruin our US economy - besides the genuine military threat they (China &others) pose to us. (besides the atrociously poor quality of communist China workmanship. To the poor, downtrodden Chinese peasant who works for peanuts, I am truly sorry for how my buying decision may affect you & your life, but I oppose YOUR evil government, so .... )

Good grief, time for me to get out of my rant mode!!

So visit: http://gasbuddy.com/ and let me know how you like it! (No, I have no commercial interest in the site - it just helps me know where to get gas! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

BTW ---- A knowledgable friend swears by Chevron gas (Techron) .... I buy it occasionally, when the price diff for it isn't excessive; it's usually at least an extra 10 cents or more per gallon.
Does anyone else have 1st hand knowledge or experience (not rumour!) about Chevron?

Personally, I use a very affordable fuel & oil additive that boosts my mileage 10 to 15 % per gallon which more than pays for the product. For every gallon of gas in my car, the additive costs about 15 cents per gallon and saves me 25 to 35 cents or more, an average of at least 15 cents, so my net savings per 20 gallons of gas is about $4.50 per 20 gallons for $3/gall gas (as of Sept 21,2009, San Diego avg regular gas (87 oct) is a little over $3 per gallon, and climbing ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
My saving$ increase as gas price increases, besides the additional long-term benefits to my engine such as decreased friction & cooler operating temps due to better lubrication.

My 2006 Azera gets in the low to mid 30's on the freeway (long, flat stretches), and low to mid 20's around town depending on driving conditions, though I'll try to do a more careful test sometime. And believe me, around San Diego, you can hardly drive more than a mile on a flat road, its mostly uuPP or DOwwwnn!! (btw, the ONLY accurate way to verify your MPG is to check in between subsequent, complete full-tank fillups, dividing delta mileage by # of gallons - Don't trust your computer mpg display, duh!).

As others state, I also find I get as good mileage when I drive in the 70's (somethimes 80's) as I do between 40 to 60 ... unless going up an extended, steep incline. While I have the power to keep up with most of the kids, I drive pretty sensibly, which means taking advantage on downhill before the uphill, or looking ahead for redlights and other road & traffic conditions no jackrabbit starts, etc. I am somewhat of an anal driver I suppose! (But not about safety)

Also I rarely if ever use cruise control, as I believe it costs you a good 1 mpg+/- or more ....
Willis

I have had my i10 for just two weeks and have worked out the mpg using this : http://www.guycroft.clara.net/utils/mpg.htmlg

I have only had 38.50 mpg, which I don't think is very good. Not done any motorway driving though, and the fastest I have been is about 55 mph, mostly short trips. Does anyone think this will improve as the car is run-in?

I don't think there are any i10 Comfort owners on this (Azera) site. Try the Comfort site.

By the way, your link doesn't seem to work for me.

Welcome to the greatest Hyundai web site there is.

I get 18 mpg in town (no A/C) and 16.5 (with A/C). 26 mpg on highway.

Could never understand 20+ mpg [in town] other people were throwing out there.

Dvdrom000, your numbers are right on the money according to this review on the 2009\2008.

I get 11.5l/100km (~19miles/gal) in city and 8.5l/100km (~29miles/gal) on highway with 110km/h.
With driving on 5th shift (60km/h) all the time with out any stops I get down to 9l/100km in city.

Latest report on the '07 Azera 3.8L Premium package mileage. At 30K miles the long term average mileage is 27.4 mpg. Tires were replaced recently and alignment set, so mileage may improve. We also use synthetic oil and live in a rural setting. Most of our driving is 25 miles or more at mostly highway speeds. Multiple checks of manually computed mileage versus the on-board computer showed results the same within +/- 0.1mpg, so I trust the on-board compter.
