First I want to say Hi to the every one. I'm a proud 03 Santa Fe GLS owner.

Here is my qestion or is it quest? I have the window based antenna in my GLS, and as I'm sure eveyone will agree, it gets terrible reception. I'm in the process of ripping out my old monsoon system as the amp is blown, and would like to replace that window entenna. Now I've looked pretty hard on the net, and I've yet to come up with a solution to my dilema, so now I'm asking if any one here has any ideas?

Appreciate any help!

Brian

A couple of things to look at, ant. from dealer, newer model. Antenna signal booster/amplifier. At 13.00/month I went satellite, xm. No issues with signal, and always something to listen to.

I would change my antenna in a heartbeat, but I don't want to deal with the headliner. I checked and the best antenna is a Fubu which is what the new Toyota's use. My wife's Corolla's radio has the best reception and I give the antenna all the credit. :460:

Ok, well the signal amplifier option is one for me to look at. XM/satellite radio I would not mind, but to be honest, I don't have the 13 a month in my budget, though once i do, it could be an option.

I did look at the fubu antenna but they don't make it for my santa fe.

You can install the Fubu antenna on any vehicle. As I said I don't want to deal with dropping the headliner. But since my last post I'm toying with the idea of cutting enough of the headliner to tighten the bolt that holds the antenna and connect the antenna wire. I just have to figure out how to cover the hole so it looks neat. IMO the amplifier plus crappy window antenna is the problem. The Monsoon radio is one of the best out there. Huyndai did change the antenna due to poor reception. Another option would be a front mounted mast/power antenna, but and it's a big but, there is no place to mount it on the front fender without a great deal of cutting through the wheel well. :w00t: No knowing what's behind the well I'm not going there. Great idea but not worth the effort.
