I started my car this morning and the check engine light came on..
didnt know what the deal was.. the car was running fine, however i did notice a slightly rougher idle on my way home yesterday.

so today i went to the dealer who said that they were getting a misfire code.. they upgraded the ECM and we're all good. idles smoother too.

i remember there being something on here about the ECM upgrade, but i just thought i'd share my story. the car has about 39500kms.

the service dpt also said that there are 'alot of bulletins out for that car'.. so some of you may want to go and get that checked.

oh, and they had a genesis in the parking lot..
..sexy car.

This is a common occurance in the 07 Accent.
Mine did it with 10000 on it .
The ecu picks up an engine misfire during the cranking proces.
A quick easy ECU flash is all it takes.
I haven't had any more problems from it.

I had mine re flashed today for the second time (after about a year). This is for the misfire code for those interested. I have about 7500 kms on an 07 auto. This time they said there is another new flash program to hopefully fix it. This is warranty stuff, but still annoying for so little mileage. The light also went on about a month ago for the loose gas cap, clicking it a few times worked for that.

Mine did this last week. First start up of the day, and the CEL comes on right away. The TSB wording only covers the 07, to correct a "rough idle within the first 40 seconds of a cold start", and a certain CEL code. However, mine never had any kind of rough idle at all. They scanned it when I got to work and automatically this reprogram popped up for my ECU ROM ID and the car accepted the ECU update without any problems. I have had no issues since (well except for a nail in my tire... lol). I have an 08, so I don't know why they haven't updated the TSB to cover the 08 as well. My car actually had a multiple misfire code though.

I don't know why your dealer would say there are "a lot" of bulletins out for the Accent, unless it's a Canadian thing. There are really not many out for the US Accent.
