Yknow I had to get off my butt and go look..hehehe...I have an 08 SE with the "up" sound system, and in fact it only goes to 35...thank gawd, because at 35 the stock speakers are driven to clip...some folks want loud, and dont care that its garbled, tinny crapola.., some folks want loud AND quality, and for that you need something besides what HYUNDAI put in the car...good luck...

do you have a equalizer button on the radio. If you do it has settings, eg: rock, classic, etc.

When you get to equalizer off. push the tuning button in and release. You should see some of the settings, and just repeat.

hope this works

cheers

Mebbe he's got a different sound system...theres no LOUD on it..after the bass, mid, treble, f/r, , l/r is something that HYUNDAI likes to call EQUALIZER.its a cheapie sound attenuator that alters the sound
frequencies in a prearranged way...mostly bad...to get the LOUDEST, and the "truest" sound (such as it is), turn the equalizer OFF...hate having a feature and not using it on general principles, but thats the way it is...to run down the road and get the effect you want you AIN'T gonna get it stock...but I bet you're figuring that out.

Actually, i don't even try to crank the thing...its not "crankable"...but i liked the SE so much that i figured I could add some aftermarket stuff...if I was to gut it and replace everything, like my last ride, I'd be throwing away ANOTHER upgraded sound system, (that I paid for) and Im just not willing to do that anymore...old age is setting in heheheheh

I find this an issue for me as well. I know it's not really a problem, and that it is working according to design, but I like to listen to music loud, and when I am driving on the freeway it is very very quiet. I am saddened by this. I would replace the speakers or something but I'm concerned about the effect on my warranty, so I'm just putting up with it. But it would be nice to have more volume in future models!

I dont think the HYUNDAI engineering types have much to say about who they get their sound systems from, as long as they fit in the spaces allocated for them...I agree the sound system leaves alot to be desired, in both quality and sheer power...even the upgraded system is lacking...cant imagine what the standard system sounds like...like i said in another post, Im NOT buying another system for this car...but...money aside, installing a new sound system isnt gonna void yer warranty on the rest of the car..If you have the bucks and/or the talent to DIY, go for it...
