I have a 2003 elantra gls. The car sat for 2 years (betweeon 06-08)in an elderly womens garage before I purchased it in June of 08 with 13k on the od. It has recently developed a hesitation on start up. When I hit the gas to get out of my driveway, it will hesitate for about 3-5 seconds, and then it will go. Also I am only getting around 17mpg. It is an auto. Any ideas? It is not shooting up any codes.

It would probably be a good idea to get a tune-up done even though it only has 13k miles on the OD.

Here is what I'd do:

1. Check your spark plugs as they may be fouled. Check the coil packs while you are at it.

2. Check your automatic transaxle fluid.

3. Check your fuel filter.

4. If all of these seem fine I would take it to a shop that you trust and have them look at it.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
