I am now getting warranty scams by mail on almost a daily basis.

Usually they come from sources with names like "Warranty Sevices", or the like.

Invariably, they notify me that my warranties are about to expire (they aren't) and they look like Hyundai mailings. Sometimes they are post cards and sometimes they are in envelopes.

I have never gotten this kind of C**p with any other car that I bought.

Are people in general getting this nonsense in the mail?? Is the dealer to blame ??(their name does not appear).

I just wrote a couple days back I can't get this Company to leave me alone. :w00t:

I get calls and Mail that is URGENT. I think the State DMV sells your info.

And my 06 LX has less than 16,000 Miles. Should be under Warranty to 2016?

Almost once a month I've been getting these same mailings since we bought our Elantra in 1999. Now they come saying that the warranty is about to expire on the 2007. I don't think so. Are these outfits so strapped for customers that they are somehow tapping into peoples credit reports or are the big three credit reporting agencies providing this information. We did not have a loan on an auto until we bought the Elantra in 1999 and then the 2007 Sonata and have been besieged by the warranty offers ever since. I don't think the dealers are selling your info, because they want you to buy the extended warranties from them. It kind of makes you wonder

We have not received any for the Sonata but we have received them on our other car. I have heard bad things about them but have no personel experience with them. I usually toss them in the trash.

I've come to the determination that it must be the finance company selling the info.

My mother and I bought our cars from the same dealership and are registered in the same county, city, and zip code in Texas. She gets these mailers constantly (once a week or more) and I haven't gotten one yet. It's the same dealer, so it must not be them. It's the same DMV/DPS, so it must not be them. The only thing left is the finance company.

I could still be wrong, but it seems like a logical theory.

We get those on a weekly basis. But we're so used to get junk mail, I just toss it to our recycle bin with the rest of them junk. But with THIS one I smile, 'cause I KNOW I don't even need to bother reading it.... Nice.

I didn't finance my Sonatas - still get the stuff maybe three times a week.

The bright side - these and the other scams I get in the mail on a daily basis are so obvious - they don't even really try.

Still a nuisance.

I actually got 3 of these in the mail last week & one in the mail just on Sat in my wife's name!!! Well I knew there was something wrong with that, b/c the last car that was in her name was her 01 Cavalier, ever since then all of our cars have been in my name, so I knew something was fishy there!! Plus I have bought an extended warranty on every car I have bought from day one, so this was another red flag, b/c all of these past vehicles I have had they all had extended warranties on them & I trade cars so often, have never used one of the warranties!

It's just "mass" marketing. We get phone calls at work usually once a day telling all of "us" that our warranty is expiring. It can be expensive with 450 vehicles in stock.....LOL

Generally though a "Mass Marketer" does not know your Name, your address,

the model & year Car you drive....

All your private information is for sale, and to the lowest possible bidder.

I get these all the time for both my cars. I got one about 10 months after I took my new 08 sonata off the lot claiming my warranty was about to expire! Lol.

I wouldn't call these scams "mass marketing" - somebody is apparently parting with big bucks here or the stuff wouldn't be coming with such frequency. More like mass rip-offs.
