Hi ALL TRAJETERS :

I have a 2005 model CVVT TRAJET 2.0 Petrol and this being my second TRAJET which I had since 2001 --> 2005 .

I shall be taking my Family for an Extended overseas holiday for 3 weeks and my TRAJET will be at Parking bay during this time . I am worried my Battery would be drained dry when I returned . I am thinking
Option #1 :removing the Battery cable but that would means needing to reset the Clock and Radio FM frequencies --> although small job .

Option #2 : Trouble somebody to run engine 10 ~ 20 mins every 2 days .

I read somewhere { cannot remember } that some circuitry could not be left without power for long period . Is it the ECU or ??? Is this true .

Advice pls :liebe011: :00000732:

 Hi T1715,
i think, and im no mechanic that opt 1 is ok if battery is tip top condition.
Opt 2 might be a drag for someone........know anyone with a charger and combine both options?
ie put battery on slow charge 2 days b4 you get home?
Mine went 10 days without me and when i got home battery was dead as.
re charged but stil didnt work.
worried it was alt, thankfully it was fine so bought new battery.

Again just my opinion, im no mechanic or sparky.
Have a good holiday, hope you get the issue sorted ok,
Mrrrjez.

Would you happen to be a member of AA or some other auto assist service? If yes, you could always give them a ring should your battery be flat on your return. I have always been very satisfied with the service rendered by AAM in Malaysia.

Hi ,

Tks for the inputs . :liebe011:

Battery has a life-time and it must never be discharged below its " rechargeable " limit . Otherwise , you need to burn some $$ for replacement . I am an AAS member more than 10 yrs now but only needed jump-start once . I also gave business to AAS at that time too --> No choice , battery dead :innocent:

I shall be away for 21 days -> definitely dead on arrival ( DOA ) when I return :w00t:

OK for all TRAJETeers .

I got this from the Service Manager of Hyundai Singapore ( Mr William Chua ) :

1. There is no truth that a Dead battery will harm the ECU .
2. Removing the Battery cable ( Negative ) would be the best option if you do not want to in-convenience others to start every 2 days .
3. After reinstalling the Battery cables : Reset the clock ; Retune your Radio stations ; Odometer is already zero ( Total is still there ) .

Cheers !
