You do realize that this vehicle could be completely different, right?

This is my fourth Hyundai. All bought new. Click on my links. answer... I would hope so. I would love this car if they would address well known problems....but they won't. And it's had waaaay to many problems....more than the 30 + cars I've owned combined. I don't think they will be any different with the Genesis. I'm sure it's a way nice car.

QUOTE(Brazzel @ Sep 9 2008, 12:50 PM) For the record I have owned the following Hyundai's......... 2000 Sonata, 2000 Elantra, 2002 Sonata, 2003 Santa Fe, 2004 Elantra, 2006 Elantra, and finally a 2006 Azera.................yes an Azera the first year out. They are the most trouble free cars I have ever driven! Now you might say well you never kept them all that long for things to go wrong. Well guess what I have traded like that with other brands with no where near the succuss I have had with the Hyundai's. All were bought new but what a difference. 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix- nice car for the day however I had constant electrical problems with many blown fuses. The dealer never did figure it all out until the day I traded it for my 1980 turbo trans am. Beautiful car however I couldn't keep it from leaking oil. The problem was from the turbo charger I was told because they ran at a higher oil pressure thus more leaks. Next I had a 1982 GMC S-15 pickup. The pickup did me a pretty good job however I got married and we decided we needed a car. Bought a 1984 Chevy Cavalier........It went through 3 different main computers. After the first the car always idled to high. After complaining the service dept. said each computer kind of had a mind of its own..........yeah right! In 1988 I got a Chevy Berreta......this had this weirdest problem of all! It would blow gasoline out of the filler cap on hot days like there was a pump blowing it out. This was never completely figured out. Next I got a 1990 Dodge Spirit V-6 (made by Mitsubishi) This car wasn't to bad. I had a steering gear go out and an oil sending unit. Next I got a 1995 Dodge Stratus. This was the biggest piece of crap that I had ever owned! I had it to the service dept. so much that many of the miles on the odometer was just from that! Everything went wrong but since it was always something different the lemon law didn't apply at that time. Next came a 1998 Chevy Malibu V-6. Blown motor at 24,000 miles.............enough said. Why didn't I try Ford? Many of my friends were complaining about theirs and told me they all have problems. The Toyota and Honda people seemed very satisified but cost quite a bit more. So finally in 2000 I tried my first Hyundai Sonata because at that time their warranty was way better than anyone elses and didn't cost extra. My thought was well if they all have problems then someone else can pay for repairs instead of me! Funny thing is my problems quit. And yeah this includes my 06 Azera first year out and all! No suspension issues, no cracked dashes.............nothing! But then I take good care of the car and its kept spotless inside and out. The car was only drove by the people at the factory, the people that transported it and finally by service during dealer prep. I had the car located for me, I wanted one with no miles (4 miles) that no one had test drove (potential buyers) before I took delievery. I don't trust anyone when driving a car. I have saw to many people just beat the living heck out of a brand new car! Some had no intention of buying just wanted to drive them. My point is if you bought used your taking over what someone else started. Unless you know the person, even if a car has all service records, doesn't mean that the previous owner/owners didn't abuse the car. You or the previous owner, for all the rest of us know, could have beat the living heck out of your Azera. Finally if you read all the customer reviews on practically any Hyundai, especially Azera, overall the reviews indicate a very high satisfactory rate. Maybe you are right in your case but the high majority reports very good products. And yes the Genesis is next for me!!!

You've already documented your problems. The first step to accepting them is not to come over to the Genesis forum to wink, nod, and p*ss on Hyundai. It's rather... er... troll-like. Bad karma.

The quality of any Hyundai is applicable to any other Hyundai and experiences provide information for people to consider. My third set of shocks are on order for my Azera and that is the only problem I have ever had with the car. I will consider a Genesis, but am disappointed that some of the nicer items on the V8 are not offered for the V6. Also, some of the nicer features on the Azera are not on the Genesis. I would not get one now though because of the high price and the fact it is the first year for the car and particularly Hyundai's first RWD. Warranty is good, but I had a Saab that went to the dealer over 25 times in 2 years for warranty work and had to be towed twice. Right now, I am keeping notes on Genesis 3.8, Acura RL, Lexus GS 350, Lincoln MKS, Volvo S80 and Audi A6.

I totally get it. A car is a car, is a car until it takes a grease dump (pardon the pun). But NO car company is perfect. Heck Lexus ES350 have had tranny issues, for what seems like forever and yet Toyota/Lexus doesn't seem to get it.
Imagine that and that car cost thousands more than Azera or Genesis.
I'm not trying to make light of some of the issues reported about Azera by some on this Forum. But from all the research that I've done on the Genesis, including my own time behind the wheel, comparing it to the intended competition, for all the bells and whistles included, and technology that is packaged in this car, it is an excellent value, that is not in doubt.
However, what is even more impressive, is that it delivers on the lux side of ride and handling, superb fit/finish makes it an excellent and worthy competitor!

QUOTE(andyman32 @ Sep 12 2008, 11:34 AM) We have two Azeras and I'm definitely in for a Genesis but not right now. Might even have a mild preference for the V6 if they eventually deck it out with the wood steering wheel, better leather & bells & whistles of the V8 tech package. (MY 2010 perhaps?)
Oh I think it will come alright! The V6 will represent 95% of sales or more as the V8 will only really give you a bit more torque, but the trade off is very costly. What surprises me is that most revues are for the V8, I guess they try to push this model as they know it's a slow mover.
