OK, so on my jeep (and every other car I've been in), enabling the window lock basically disabled all passenger window switches. The driver could still control the windows, but that's it. So...is it just my Sonata, or do they all disable all WINDOWS aside from the drivers side.

Also, I found it weird how the light in the glove box only comes on if the headlights are on. I confirmed it's operated by a switch, so why doesn't it come on at all times? Now this I checked on another Sonata on the lot and it did the same thing. I mean, what if you get in the Sonata to grab something from the glove box. I've jumped in the passenger side before to simply grab on of the books or something like that :P

You are correct.

Glovebox light only turns on if lights are in a position other than off.
Window lock locks all windows except the drivers.

Doesn't your car have an interior light that is aimed over in that direction?

The glove box isnt enormus where you'll never find the bottom of it.

Seriously....

my wife's Tucson does the same thing.. locking the windows only allows for the driver to open the drivers side front window and the rest are locked, period....

haha..you havent seen mine. I dont even know WHAT is in there.

Still, if i needed to search it i would use the reading lamp or bring a flashlight. better yet, leave the centre dome light set to door so it comes on when the door is open..thats bright enough to find whatever you are searching for

i do agree that it kinda defeats the purpose of a window lock that locks all but drivers. ultimate power should still be available to driver over all windows.

Well they probably saved a few bucks by doing the window lock the way they did it. Heck for the price of the car and the features that come with it, I'll take that slight nuisance. I wish I remembered if my '04 Elantra GT did that though. I don't specifically remember having the same problem but I hardly used the window lock then since my only child at the time was a baby? My wife's santa fe I believe has a similar window lock too. Now I gotta go check though.

Haha, it is nice having a light in my jeep's glovebox which is probably a quarter the size of the Sonata's :P Though it's more/less one of those "what the heck" things.

Oh I agree... It's really not that big of a deal... Just something I'm not used to. But considering basically every car my family has ever owned has been some GM make, I'm sure I've missed out on some of the weird ones setups. Hehe, I was the deviant in my family who branched away from GM and got my Cherokee.
