I have been wanting this since I bought the car, we got my wife a new Altima & we made sure to get the factory bluetooth in it & I LOVE IT!!!!!! So crisp & clear! So I have been calling every couple weeks & when I was at the dealer Fri they said they can get them now!!! So I am going to get one, they are selling for $350 & they told me installation was anywhere from $80-$200!!!! I don't have a problem paying $80, but not $200!!! So I was wondering if anyone had installed one yet or if I should try it myself???
Thanks!

To install it you have to have a special drill fixture to get the lock tabs perfectly aligned.
If the holes are drilled wrong it will rattle or even fall out.

For $350 the fixture should be included...

Ok sounds good. So how much do you think they should charge? I though $80 was reasonable, but I don't think $150-$200 is!!

Well I know my company gets paid six tenths of a labor hour to install sunroof models and seven tenths for non sunroof, but thats what Hyundai pays I'm not sure on the actual mitchell time but I can tell you it only takes me 10 minutes to install a sunroof model and about 15 to install a non sunroof bluetooth unit.

Ok so I just called them & they said they could get me a deal on the unit, "$350", I said I am sure that is the regular cost on it!!! Then I asked about install & they said it will take 2 1/2 hours to do it, but they will only charge me for 2 hours = $160.00!!! I about died!!! Do you know what a good price would be on the unit, b/c I know they didn't pay $350 for it, b/c I though that was the full price! I am going to call them back here in a few & in the mean time I am calling some other Hyundai dealers in the central market to see what they charge for install!

for the factory installed option on the monroney label it's only 325. That seems a bit steep to install to me. Does your car have a sunroof?

The tool is only available to the vehicle ports and dealerships. I would try calling around to different dealerships to get a better deal on all of it cause from the factory Hyundai only charges 325 and thats including the install at the port

I'm thinking about getting one too, does the blue tooth integrate with the radio?

No the bluetooth doesn't integrate with the radio. Only the nav equipped genesis does that so far.

Ah oh really. So since I have NAV in mine, it won't either then? This was kinda what I was wanting, so it won't auto mute the radio or show up the # on the NAV that is calling? I just figured since it was factory it would do this.....We just got my wife a new Altima & we made sure to get the $1000 package with it that had the Bose/XM/Bluetooth & it is fully integrated which is nice. The # calling shows up on the radio & it auto mutes & turns the radio into the handsfree, I just assumed this one would do that also :(

No it only replaces the sunglasses holder with a self contained unit that looks like this

Well after the 4th call to the dealer, they won't do ANYTHING on the install!!! They still insist on charging me $160 to install this, which I just think is insane!!! I am going to call & talk to the owner tomorrow & see if they can do something since I bought the car there!!!

Someone else brought up this topic once before. You should look into aftermarket solutions, specially Parrot kits.

I have the aftermarket Pionner unit the 7000BT, has bulit-in Bluetooth. Once you pair up the phone with the unit, it never has any problems connecting after that. Sound quality is great through, BT Streaming. It's awesome that I don't have to hold the phone while I get a call anymore, I can sit back pay attention to the road and relax while casually talking even at highway speeds people hear me fine (my mic is mounted above the RVM)

Unit: 280
Dash Kit: 10 bucks
Install: 74
Total: 364

Not to shabby considering callers come through the speakers, has BT streaming and USB

Just my opinion but that bluetooth unit is bulky and just plain ugly.

Like DJonemore I'm replacing the head unit with an aftermarket... and very close to his unit too. My Pioneer FH-P800BT was delivered yesterday and will be installed either today or tomorrow. With the XM Adapater and install will only be right about 400 total which is less than your BT and Install.

i could have gone cheaper too if I didn't want a double din unit
